How about a list of BCS schools that Fran has beaten in the past 6 years as opposed to the number SMU has won against BCS schools in the past 6 years.

Fran's record against BCS schools while at A&M was not impressive, he was 29-28 or something close to that.

Well I would say that is about 28 games better than SMU.

A&M needs a coach who will bring its program into the 21st century.
There are at least a dozen others who won't make the same mistakes Franchione made.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/spo ... 23198.html
During his five-season tenure at A&M, Franchione had not produced a team that finished higher than third in the Big 12 South, or one that ranked in the postseason AP or Coaches national polls.[41] Franchione also compiled a 4â€"16 record against ranked teams, and a 4â€"14 record against Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Texas Tech.[11] Additionally, Franchione compiled a 19â€"21 Big 12 record.

I'll give you a sixth reason, Fran's sharp wit:

He had the ability to shake Bob Stoops to his very core. Well, that's hyperbole, but I like Fran's joke.

Regarding the losses to top 10 teams. The discouraging part of him being outcoached was that we have more talent than 2 of the 3 he lost to (the exception being OU). If you lose you lose, but I am talking about games where he was out game planned.
I think this is another example of Aggies inflated opinion of their team. Despite all the pretty stars Rivals assigns your players, I believe Mizzou and Kansas have better athletes than A&M.
I read something saying A&M sent zero players to NFL last year or very few players over the last 3-4 years. Despite the inflated opinion from recruiting services, which are skewed by thousands of aggie subscribers, A&M is not recruiting top talent or is not developing it (just watch Reggie McNeal high school games and wonder why he is not Vince Young). A&M appears to be recruiting at or below the talent level of TCU. This is proven by the results on the field (which A&M fans blame on coach) but is also proven by NFL scouts which seem to think Boise, TCU, and Houston are outrecruiting A&M.

What has Fran done since a certain TCU running back went to San Diego? He proved he was smart enough to not get in LT's way when he at TCU, but when he is up against a true rebuilding effort he has been rather spare.
With all that said, if he can recruit LT into here then sign him up! I rather see Coker.

With Fran at SMU, I could seriously imagine a TCU/SMU matchup of two Top 25 teams. That would be an awesome atmosphere and re-ignite a storied rivalry that used to decide national championships. With a guy like Coker or Niueheisel, I just can see it happening. There is enough talent in Texas for both TCU and SMU to be Top 25 programs. In a really perfect world, this would be at the expense of KSt, OSU, A&M, Baylor, and Tek (which recently lost is academic acredation and was temporarily lowered to community college status (Serisouly).
