Thanks.
Uh, absolutely not!! Sorry.

That is so High School, to me. the classic uniforms always have a contrasting pant & jersey (See USC, Mich, UGA.) White road uniforms being the exception if the helmet is white (see Texas, Penn State, Nebraska)

Shouldn't our uniform colors coincide with the colors used on our website?

Yeah, my high school is blue on blue. Now college too.
And I just bought a new red SMU sweatshirt at the bookstore. I knew I should have gotten the blue one!

we're speculating, based on a rumor. There are previous threads where plenty of Royal & red uniforms are displayed.
Personally I like the navy. Ed Davidson, a former SMU Equipment Manager, said it was so much easier to find uniforms and other apparel that was navy & red, than royal & red.
But I'm good with Royal, as long as it isn't that Electric, Detroit Lions blue

See above image for only program to ever go 6 straight seasons with 11 wins. Played for 3 straight National Championships. What do you see?
Black cleats!and contrasting Jersey and pants
Not to mention I would never take fashion advice from any school with the color schemes of the top two teams, especially one that has purple!

No pingpong ball helmets please.
Look too much like a copy of the whorns
The ones we w_hore during the cheatah years were a
COPY of
the whorns
Traditional SMU red helmets were worn during most of the 'real' glory
days, especially during the Doak Walker / Matty Bell days and the Jerry
LeVias / Hayden Fry days are the newest old helmet color we can
choose.
Go with cardinal red, unless you want the silver ones like
Ohio St.

If anyone is interested, you can get Adidas SMU 'replica' jerseys here
http://www.footballfanatics.com/COLLEGE ... gle_154204
I've ordered one and it seems a little nicer than the ones for sale online at the Spirit Shop. Not too bad for replica jerseys....

You have no idea how hard the players had to work to get the cleats changed from black to white....

That's really great since they haven't
EVEN been designed yet

you're right and I really don't care. it's nice that a someone got their input. Maybe they should have worked less on getting the shoes and changed and more on their performance. That's a shot. I know I apologize. The players work hard. I just think that someone besides the players should be deciding that. they also decided to go with the WORST uniforms SMU has ever had: the JETS! abominations.
From what I can tell, Pete Carroll, didn't ask the players. He went back to the Glory Days and did it. If we go back to a Doak Walker style uniform, I would be thrilled!

Hayden Fry was the last coach to go the Doak Walker uniforms from the
pingpong ball or blue helmets in the name of tradition

When I played in high school, I didn't get to pick the uniform. Since when does everything have to be a democracy. this is a republic. The coach & AD are the duly appointed representatives. They'll take your input, but ultimately they make the decision.
And yes, you wouldn't like me as a head coach, but my job as your coach wouldn't be to be your best friend, It is to get the most out of you. Most of my favorite coaches were the ones that yelled and screamed at me the most because they knew I could do more. Sure I like the buddy-buddy types but they never made any lasting impression on me.
In fact, my HC for most of HS had been the buddy type, but when he became HC, he just yelled and screamed a lot because that's what he thought he should do, but I don;t think anyone took him seriously because he changed when the plaque on his door changed.
