I'd say anywhere between 11 to 12 wins. And if it's at Mobil Gas Station I won't be there. Mobile, and I might.
The Mobil Gas Station Bowl would be a step up from The Safeway Bowl against UNT, wouldn't it?

Where would the galleryfurniture.com bowl rank amongst those?
There is no longer a GalleryFurniture.com Bowl. It's now the Texas Bowl.
I realize that. I just threw it out because it was such a terrible name for a bowl game. Much like the Poulan Weed Eater Bowl.

That is so tragic. My life is kinda thrown off now knowing that the GalleryFurniture.com Bowl is no longer in existence. I hope we can one day just make it to the Bubba's Bowl.

Is just 7 too much to ask for? I just want to see my ponies in a bowl game again someday. Preferably against Texas. 20-6 baby!

Our schedule is:
vs. Texas State
- WIN@ Texas Tech
vs. TCU -
Hopefully a WIN@ Navy
@Rice
- WIN@UTEP
- WIN@Tulane
-WIN@UCF
vs. USM
vs. Memphis
vs. UH
vs. Tulsa
Suprised Stallion hasn't reamed you for picking @Rice as a W as we have not won at Rice in exactly 247 years.

Easy answer is: more than last year. I know I am going out on a limb, but I feel pretty good about it.

I'm going to pray you were being sarcastic and didn't actually think we will be playing 4 straight away games, then 4 straight home games....as if that was in perfect schedule order.

Those games are not in order but the fact still remains that winning away games at any time during the season would be quite an accomplishment.

haha, ok, bad oversight in my mind. i guess i should have known tghat wasnt the real schedule...but honestly we dont make a bowl game next year. i hope JJ and Co. can prove me wrong but 5 wins is the goal for me....if we get 5, well be in good business. anything less than that is SMU football being SMU football

yes, its something we dont do that well. 2005 was the best year for road wins i think. Thriller at UAB and the one at UH.

From my perspective, and I just finished my 4 year stint on the team, we might be looking a little thin in a few areas next year:
Our experienced linebacking group, as small as they were, aren't going to be replaced by any monsters until Odiari can step in (if he is a Mustang) and if they move Yenga back to LB. Bonilla can anchor the other OLB spot well next year and he is an extremely hard working guy that we can all rely on to be fully prepared for his senior campaign.
Our DEnds are looking good, but would lose pass rush if Yenga makes the pref move back to LB. Jordan Johnson is a really talent-filled guy -- if he doesn't excel next year I would be surprised. Smart is just a beast that will get more beastly as time in weight room passes.
Our DTs are def an area for bother. Leonard is gone and hopefully Elizee didn't fail out. The backups are too undersized (Thomas, Dollens) and Parham hadn't gotten into shape to excel while I was there.
In the secondary we lost a good corner and a good utility player in Lindley and Jones. I certainly think the drop-off in the secondary will be nonexistant with Derrius Bell stepping into his own and Tyler Jones making plays like he showed he could do this year. Rock Dennis will definitely create a stir in the starting rotation as well.
Offensively, our O-Line concerns me because both T's and a G graduated. Chase Smith would be a beast but he can't stay healthy. T. Poynter and Lobo are both really, really good pass blockers and Enright is an all-arounder. I just worry because our depth at Tackle isn't strong.
Receivers/TEs/RBs/QB/P/K are all solid inside and out. Watch out for Bradley Haynes this year.
6-6.

Most of us had positive expectations for this season and we ended up 1-11. Winnable games include in no order Rice, TSU, Tulane, Memphis, and UTEP. Long shots include: UCF, TT, TCU, and UH. Who knows games include: Tulsa, Navy, and USM. Assuming we win all our winnable games, lose all of our long shots and win one of our who knows games, we should be 6-6. But last year we snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory, time and again.
