I've never seen this guy, so I know nothing first-hand about him. Apparently:

* Kid is very lean. Word is his weight is more like 240 at the moment, but he has long arms and legs, and wide shoulders that could carry a lot more weight.
* Apparently he has enormous feet. Some of you remember Sterling Harris, who was 6-6 and apparently was projected to grow into his frame. Heard this kid sports size 15s or 16s.
* Don't know his dad's name, but supposedly he's an enormous man. Taller than his son, and blessed with huge, strong hands - pretty handy for a lineman.
* I was told he plays with a "great balance and center of gravity" that allows him - along with those huge feet - to hold his ground against heavier linemen. As he grows into his frame, you have to assume that will improve, too.
* Long reach and very adept at holding pass rushers at bay. Very good at not getting "locked up" with defensive linemen, or so I'm told.

The kid played on the Coppell varsity before the end of the season and started several games. Coppell still runs the Nascar offense even after the coaching changes which is very similar to the run & shoot Jones likes to run which may have been a factor in his recruiting.

But Sterling Harris had such size and potential and if I remember correctly ND offered him. Too bad he had a stance that pained me to look at and was one of the most uncoordinated OLM I have seen above the Pop Warner level.

....and yet he started at SMU for several years. What does that tell you about the "other guys" we signed?

Recruit a bunch of guys who look like Sterling Harris, and Coach McKnight will have a lot to work with.

Yeah well Romo and Eckert started here for a while too. I am not saying Harris was a waste of space I am just saying comparisons to him dont inspire confidence.

Look at the RS/HS situation from last season. There were six. By spring game Lilly had blown out his knee, Brooks was injured, LeRebius had shoulder surgery the next week, which left Turner and Tenneson the only ones uninjured. Nobody in the group had yet to play a down of NCAA football. Not that scout teaming doesn't rough you up. Brooks and LeRebius are both back, but you need a lot of big guys and you need to take em when you can get them.
