SMU is trying to schedule a team called The Hilltoppers? That's funny.FriscoPMG wrote:Sounds like the Missouri game is going to be replaced with Western Kentucky. Pretty sure this is close to being finalized if not already...
BTW, their mascot Big Red is consistently a contender in the Capital One Mascot Bowl.

Yep. The Hilltoppers are Western KY. I lived in Nashville for 6 yrs & visited their campus a couple of times. I guess that's all we could find.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

The WKU Hilltoppers played Sam Houston State in a Div. 1-AA playoff game in Huntsville, TX in 2004. I was there. The Bearkats won, 54-24.

(Western Kentucky)
Hint to Steve Orsini. Please try to schedule teams in cities where fans can either drive to fairly easily or fly directly into. These Western Kentuckys and Ark States that basically don't have a major airport where you fly into a city and then have to drive an hour&half or two hours really stinks for the SMU fans traveling to away games. Of course a place like Navy would be one of the exceptions and well worth the drive time from the airport. Louisiana Lafayette was a place serviced with direct flights from DFW and thus you're not driving at midnight or early the next morning back to the hotel/airport departure city. Carry on.
