Does he not see that other than Mitchell ( who had to be pulled multiple times last year due to injury and poor play) he is our only qb to have any experience. Padron has played 5 games in his life! And that would put us 2 deep at qb.

Why move sanders to corner?? He is our best WR and is a senior. This is ridiculous! McCann to O is the only one that makes any sense.

Comments came in the context of a question that asked "have you considered moving current players this spring?"

These moves seem more for special situations. Sanders is an all the time WR but may see some action as a 3rd down nickel player. Same with McCann on offense, still a defensive player. He mentioned Braden as a QB but was looking to get the best athletes on the field and some time at safety may be the way.

No cause for panic. JJ wasn't.

Sanders will be at an NFL training camp. Whether he's drafted or not is another question. But he has the size, speed, hands and ability to be worth a look by many teams. If I were a GM and he was on the board in the 4th round, I'd grab him in a heartbeat.

Are you saying he is leaving this year to be at a camp? Or saying next spring he will be

It wouldn't really surprise me to see ES get drafted. Whatever numbers he's able to put up will still be viewed as inflated by JJ's system, however he's been consistently great his entire career and has nore than adaquate height and speed. Rounds 5 - 7 seem very possible if he's able to have some good workouts b/w our New Orleans Bowl appearance and the draft next year.

Sanders will be in the NFL next year. He was 11th in the NCAA in receiving yards per game; top 20 in catches. He missed the last three games. He had a true freshman QB. He graded very well according to the NFL scouts, from what I was told. There really was a chance he left school this year.

Declaring for the draft after last season would have been laughable for ES. He is a good player for SMU but c'mon...

Very nicely done. The first post-signing day 2009 Bowl prediction. The keys to the bus are officially yours:

Too nice of a bus to get it stuck in the sand with the tide coming in

JJ also said that if we need running backs we would move some of our linebackers there because they all can run. I would think that we need to move anybody that can tackle to the defensive side.

From what I hear it sounds like the team, their positions and our options if we lose depth at a certain position are all really jerry-rigged!!

I think for JJ at this point its about adding good athletic players on to the team, and he will fit them in where he can .... I like the fact that he is willing to give guys a look at another position if it means getting them on the field.
