Thad,
after the marshall game, while my computer was still hooked up to the bigscreen at 1st&10, we shared your preview with the folks who were still there. Everyone was moved, to say the least.
I even dug up the longer clip that's on youtube. it's awesome. way to go. can't wait to see the final (with footage of 1st & 10 in there!)
great job buddy.

pure awesome-ness! I've showed the trailer to numerous friends who know my love for SMU, and they even got goosebumps. Cannot wait to see this wherever it is shown...theaters, HBO, ESPN...anywhere.
Great work!

Thank you guys so, so much for the praise. I am humbled. Rest assured that wherever this film lands, my commitment is to quality and making us proud.
If any of you are on Rivals as well, don't believe the headline of that thread, I need to get in touch with Armen to have it changed, this is currently a completely independent film - not affiliated with any network or theatrical distribution company.
Also, look to ponyfans in the future for exclusive videos. I mean c'mon, this site is hosted on my company's server... this has to be the place to get that stuff!
If any of you have contacts to people I just have to talk to, please PM me.
You can run on for a long time, run on for a long time...

Thad, your trailer brings up long dormant feelings and memories, from the clips of ED/CJ to Gregg, to the overlay of Johnny Cash. I wish you well on this project, and will gladly drive the 4 hours up for the premier.
For the casual SWC fan, and for the current SMU students and many fans, this will be an education rather than just entertainment. I appreciate that you have avoided the need to make this an apologetics piece on the 'unfair' application of the death penalty, or an homage to SMU football in general...your comment above that it will focus on THIS team and the resurgence this year will hopefully put it past the most cynical of critics. One question, did you find any reluctance from those associated with the Meyer/Collins era from discussing what happened, and their own part in the puzzle?
I wish you well as you complete this project..

Thad- great clip. I am anxious to see the finished product. I hope we will be able to get this in a DVD. I doubt if many theatres here in Peru will be showing it.

Yes, as mentioned it stirred up a lot of memories and emotions. There was a group that wanted to fund a law suit againt the NCAA and were stopped at the request of the admin..
GO PONIES!!!

very moving and Jonny Cash's hardscrabble voice and life style was the perfect match to this story line.

Loves it. Also, great use of Explosions in the Sky...can never go wrong with Explosions (they did the soundtrack for Friday Night Lights the movie and the tv series)

WOW...gave me chills and even brought a tear to my eye. Incredibly well done! Having been a fan since I can remember and going to SMU during our first years back (dealing with those god awful SWC opponents - esp. UT fans) this thing (coupled with a bowl bid) could be very healing. I might know some people to pass this on to for you - best of luck.
Oh, & I don't know if it's true or not, but I remember hearing that Notre Dame was found guilty of more infractions in the 90's than we were in the 80's, yet didn't lose TV or bowl privileges. Might be worth looking into.
Keep us posted - can't wait to see the film.
GO MUSTANGS! Beat Tulane!

Is there much truth to the Texas Ex's pushing (giving evidence, et) for SMU death penalty/suspensions? Or other SWC members for that matter?

Don't know, but I wouldn't doubt it for a second. All I remember is that EVERYBODY was doing it, including Texas. Even after we got busted. I worked out w/a guy in HS that was a big recruit. He was deciding between Texas & West Virginia...when I asked him why those two he said, "Texas is giving me more money, WVU is giving me a better car."
