someone from the school would verify he attended said classes everyday.

This is already done for some sports. I'm 100% sure it's done for basketball (seen the coaches making class checks) and probably for football too

Dark Horse wrote:Rumor has it Kenny Turner (5-10, 195), a first-team JUCO All-America RB from Fullerton Junior College in California, is going to visit SMU soon, maybe even this week. Not positive, but I've heard this from several people who I trust. Here's what they told me: Ran 236 times this year for 1,518 yards and 19 touchdowns. Had 29 catches, 336 receiving yards. Allegedly runs in the 4.3 or 4.4 range ... with a brace on his knee after injuring his knee. Has been in jail for his role in a gun fight in high school. Played high school ball with Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson, who apparently thinks Turner is an absolute stud. June Jones has a history of reclamation projects, and from what I've been able to find out.
Again, I don't know this to be true, but enough people have mentioned this that I'm wondering if there's some truth to it.

Here's a highlight clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1imJ9XyPtk

Does anyone else think that these Dark Horse posts are just a little .....creepy? With all of this..'rumor has it'....'not postive, but heard this from people I trust?....'from what I have been able to find out'...'again, don't know this to be true'....'enough people have mentioned it' crap, that it is really weird and maybe he is trying to impress us all with his 'inside' secrets...Wow I can't believe someone with all of his 'contacts' is actually on PonyFans with us mere mortals.

We are not worthy.......enlighten us again Dark Horse ...pleeeeeease?

Kenny Turner's interest in SMU is pretty well documented on Rivals, lncluding an interview with Chris Johnson. I suggest taking a look. It's not a "creepy" thing at all

Dark Horse broke this before Rivals did....I saw his post on pony fans and went to rivals to ask for more info, don't ban me from the board......

Rivals knew but were not disclosing it to the public....One it hit the rivals message board, armen came with the story...

Dark Horse > Rivals....

Due to the sensitive nature of this recruit I kind of wish Dark Horse would not have made this public until the recruit had been okayed by the administration and signed his letter of intent.

The negative press will be immense if he verbals. When that happens, administration & admissions will renege. Mutual parting of ways. Seen it before at other schools.

I think you overestimate how many people are paying attention to SMU athletics if you think there will be immense press.

This is where Jone's ability as a communicator come in to their own. The guy can just flat out sell, and he'll run spin control on this. Redemption is the key point to his being at SMU today, and if our program is worth redemption, then perhaps... just maybe, Kenny Turner is too.

He should have just pushed the girls in some mud, oil or jello.

I had no idea Dark Horse had broken the news before Rivals did. I don't understand why it would be a bad thing to give that information if it is indeed true. It's not like he's spreading rampant rumors with no truth involved. I don't know how he found out before everyone else, but I appreciate the information nonetheless. Hopefully we can give Turner a 2nd chance and he can live up to his potential as a football player

Just because something is true doesn't mean it needs to be made public at this time especially since the young man has not been approved by the administration or signed, as well as the whole nature of this situation. I am sure the coaches are just thrilled that this was made public.
