Tried it for the first time Friday night. I liked it a lot. Great fast food with, really, an Austin feel to it. Sitting outside working on a longneck was kinda cool. Good mixed crowd.
I last darkened their door in the late '80s. While I kinda remember liking the food, I don't remember it being true Tex Mex. But it sounds like I may be missing something.

Had dinner at Javier's a few months ago, last time I was there was twenty years ago. It is not Tex-Mex, it is more, "Interior Mexico" food, whatever that means. It was very good and the margarita's are still bueno.
