I am not arguing that more of the assistant coaches need to be out there putting out offers I just wonder what being white or black has to do with it.

Well, for one, other schools use our lack of staff diversity against us. It's been no secret for years, that programs negative recruit SMU for this reason. W/every staff opening, certain parties have been very vocal we need more black guys. At Under Armour, my stomping ground, when Maryland briefly flirted w/the idea of approaching June, his loyalty to his staff was seen as a negative. They had seen Fridge load up the Terps staff w/old, white, ex-NFL types, and the results were great w/the previous coaches players, not his own. SMU needs a few dynamic trail guys, and yes one or two need to be black guys. This is a special program that requires a different type of sell, and you have to positon yourself appropriately, not play into stereotypes.
