Saw that - great commercial.
Almost like they read Big Easy Pony's post before making it.

By the way, I went to what has to be the best beer store in DFW today. Nondescript place called Lone Star Beverages over on the corner of Frankford and Josey in Carrolton, I believe. What an unbelievable selection. Their sister store, Sams, at Trinity Mills and Marsh may be even better. Wow, wow, wow. And the service was friendly too.

Nothing beats Majestic for beer selection. You should hit the one in Addison.

Kegs and Barrels in Plano is fantastic, especially for the harder to locate brews. Trinity Hall is a very underrated stop for great beer in the Park Cities area...they were the only bar in Texas carrying Tactical Nuclear Penguin. Only 150 bucks a bottle!

Dutch drinks TNP. He can tell you where to buy it.

There's a brewery in New York that makes an IPA-style beer called "Hoptical Illusion."

Yes, it's a goofy name. But it is perhaps the best beer I have ever had - certainly the best domestic beer, anyway.

Has anyone ever seen it for sale in Dallas? Alas, I don't have a keg fridge, so I'm looking for bottles.

Thanks

Last summer Trinity Hall was carrying TNP- they at least claimed at the time it was the only bottle being sold in Texas, hence the $150.00 price tag. There's also Sink the Bismark, 42% ABV, and BrewDog is working on a brew with +50% ABV. I've heard that they all kind of taste like sh*t though.

i know where a bottle of TNP is, but i'm not sharing. haven't bought it yet, and it wasn't that expensive. that was bar service price at Trinity Hall. that's a bottle of beer that isn't meant to be drank at one sitting. it's more of a spirit.

I have a bottle of Sink the Bismark (42%ABV) from the same brewer which is stronger than TNP.

I read where a high yeast beer such as Hoegaarden will stabilize blood sugar and is better to drink perhaps than a light beer. Other high yeast beers, anyone?

Go ahead and skip bombshell blonde. Local Texas beer with no flavor.

That would be hard to imagine after what I saw at those two stores, especially Sams. No affiliation of course.

I'll check out Majestic. Thanks.
