This guy has great potential in this offense, and I think we are all going to be shocked at how well our recruiting is going to pick up quickly with the BCS offer.
Do we even have it confirmed from him or his coach that he actually committed to SMU? It would be nice to know that because I haven't seen anything for two days from either of them talking about the decision.
Hope he goes from sleeper to standout player. Only had offers from ArkSt, Central Ark, Cinci (already have dual-threat commit), and SMU. QB stable is finally starting to fill up with quality players. Could see a few transfer-outs in the next few years from QBs that can't cut it.

maybe someday...
Hey Junior, while you are cleaning up the off topic posts or should I say re-defining approved content please consider doing something about all this conference changing crap. I want to get back to reading about coach Jones isn't a real Texan because he does not look like us and why he can't deliver........ Oh and a little more of the outdated R&S.
Ok, I'm new on this site so I'll make the biggest contribution I can and tell you all I can about Neal Burcham. It may be a bit more info then some of you care for but I don't really care.
The Kid can play, straight up! One reason for a lack of offers is that teams were scarred that if ARK offers him late he will go ahead and flip his commitment. Kind of like what happened with Tyler Wilson and Tulsa. I confess I am not a SMU fan per say, but When June Jones got hired on it peeked my intrest. Now Neal Burcham, who is from my home town, commits so I think I have another team to root for. Not saying I'll pull for the ponies over my hogs, but I'll be paying a lot more attention to you guys now.
Burcham is on the light side, but he's still a 17 year old kid. At a legit 6' 2" maybe 6' 3" he can still fill out and add a good 20 to 30 pounds of muscle. Has great accuracy and can actually read a D. The competition isn't the highest that the state has to offer, but there is a good bit of talent in it, that conference in particular is rough. For example, Greenwood (Who Burchams team Greenbrier, lost their first game to this season) has won something like 5 of the last 10 state titles. In the late 90's early 00's (When I went) Greenbrier was not a good team. We have a city population of about 5,000 and some of the teams in our conference were 40,000+. The coaches got fired and the state re-classified the schools. Our new coach (Coach Tribble) Coached liked 30 years at a DIV 2 college and stepped down when his wife got cancer. He decided to get back into coaching and Greenbrier had an opening. first year 0 wins. Second year, 1 win. 3rd year, the first year Neal was QB there, state semi finals. Last year they made the playoffs but I'm not sure how far they went, I believe the quarter finals.
All in all, if you give him some time, like a red shirt year, you could have something really special! Oh, and everyone I talk to says he is an extremly high character kid!
Haven't gotten any more info other than what I got on after it happened which was that they don't think it's anything major, more than likely just a sprained ligament but they expected that he would get checked out.
