Unless drastic improvement, 6 wins tops. Win one road game at Memphis, lose one home game to UCF. Go 1 to 5 on road and 5 to 1 at home, but that is being generous with assuming we can finally beat Navy.

EXTREMELY experienced mediocre talent only goes so far. The good news is that talent level should improve and we play a lot of teams that have even less talent than us

Cameron rogers hits the bench over the next two weeks, defense pulls it together. Frosh will also be involved at outside linebacker and give depth at DT. Ace and DJ start popping up all over the place too. We will hang 60 this weekend and not look back.
I am going to stick with the 10 win prediction until I see our inability to rack points up in the next two weeks. Rogers is killing us on defense. Once he is replaced, it will change everything.

UTEP
Northwestern State
Memphis
Southern Miss
Tulane
Navy
Rice
We already beat UTEP, Northwestern State is FCS, Memphis is terrible, Southern Miss lost to Marashall (we beat Marshall last year), Tulane is terrible, we are due against Navy and no Ricky Dobbs, and Rice is a home game (we usually win at home lose on the road vs Rice).
Rice?

looks like a nail-biting 7 win season to me
i thought we would look sharper this season
we have been "in a funk" for awhile now
i don't understand it
still very possible we go into the TCU game 3-1
3 wins after 4...makes a 7 win season feasible

I read where the Navy replacement QB looked pretty good, remember Army beat us with a lesser talented QB than Dobbs. Also, Marshall has this new freshman QB from Florida that might be just as good as the QB last year from UCF. So USM in Hattiesburg might not be a pushover. And Rice will be not pushover either.

Hard to see how we can beat anyone except NW State for sure. Maybe beat Memphis, Tulsa, Tulane, Navy and Rice. Probably six wins. Next year with all the key seniors missing, probably worse.

Against a very, very good A$M, both sides of the ball stunk up the place. Against a conference foe, the D started to show it can be effective. The O looked addled the second half but wasn't the worse we have seen the first half.
The kids do play with effort. We had a couple of players this last game successfully imitate Caven teams and fumbled the ball all over the place. That has to stop. And we have to get the penalties down, way down.
And we did show improvement over the first week.
Our kickers are not terrible (though our kick coverage needs improvement).
And we have a huge weapon in Hunt (he has blocked 5 points this season).
Other teams have started slow and come on during the season. We may actually be luck in our schedule to have these 3 winnable games while we improve into a championship team.
I think 8 to 9 wins is still in the realm of possibilities.

If they play and coach up to their potential...12. If they are satisfied with only going to a bowl....6. If they play and coach like they did in the first two games....maybe 4. That means playing guys who are doing things right on and off the field, no loafers or slackers. Hard for coaches to sit talented athletes, even if it hurts team chemistry.

We are 1-1, which is exactly where we thought we would be after two games. Everyone settle down. There are some things that need to be figured out, but the W is all that matters.

This team's goal should be 8 wins, and another appearance in the conf championship game. We have the schedule and the personnel to accomplish this, albeit with the schedule and personnel we have we cannot play under our potential if we are to get there. Not a prediction from me, but as a team that should be the goal for this year.
