I agree completely with you. I would have no problem at all being in CUSA if it was a BCS conference and have said so many times. BB could make up for years of watching his conference getting pilfered if he could actually rally the troops and make it happne.

Good argument by EastStang. Sucks b/c shy of the Big12 or some other pipedream that is our predicament in any conference.

I think UT would rather have Tulane in the Big 12? than TCU. Just my opinion talking to all the Texas Ex's out here in Midland.

Yep. Nothing happens as the ripple effects down scroll down to our little dingy.
However, there is one caviot. If Big East raids C-USA for ECU, UCF, and Houston. If this happens you have a totally decimated CUSA. Our best option at that point would be to ditch the conference and rapidly pursue the MWC.
Also, to the people saying they'd rather be in the current CUSA than the MWC I couldn't disagree more.
Quality MWC Programs
1. Boise State - Top 10 Program (CUSA has nothing than can compare to Boise)
2. Nevada
3. Fresno State
4. Hawaii
5. Air Force
Maybe its just me but I'd rather be in a conference w/ a perennial national title contender that will gaurantee the conference has some legitimacy. CUSA doesn't have anything close to a Boise. This conference has a chance to challenge AQ status IMO:
Boise State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada, Air Force, Wyoming, New Mexico (especially if they get Leach), Colorado State, Air Force, UNLV, SMU, Houston
That is pretty good for non AQ and we get to dump dead weight Rice, Tulane, UAB, and Marshall.

its pretty good-but we are talking higher expenses too. It's at least worth noting that not more than 100 fans of any team but Air Force would show up. The whole thing is so screwed up-I think you would need to sit back and look at all the facts and consider What The Hell are We doing?

Teams that already bring ZERO for attendance:
Rice - 2 years ago was just dreadful
Marshall
UAB
Tulane
Southern Miss
UCF
ECU
Memphis
We are already in a conference that does d*ck for us in terms of visitor attendance. As least the national visibility of the MWC would be better IMO.

Little off on that list. ECU regularly sells out a 50,000 seat stadium - Not bad, actually. UCF averages over 30,000 with no tradition and little regional opponents or interest.
The others are accurate. Darnit, Memphis could regularly sell out the Liberty Bowl or more if they just got off their duff.

And we'd get to play on the Mtn network

Yeah I meant road attendance. At least you could count on Boise State, Air Force, and Houston to bring quite a few fans. Once New Mexico gets their ship righted they'll be a pretty solid non-AQ program also.
