TCU is the new kid on the block. Has to go along with what the commish wants. Until big12 actually calls. And I don't seem to hear much about texas being excited about adding them.

All this Big East talk is great and I'm certainly glad we are at the top of their list now. However, it seems to me the real issue at this point is not whether we can get in the Big East, but can the Big East save their football conference ? I mean the ACC has already taken two of their teams and could take another. There is talk of the Big 12 offering TCU and some of their other teams. Some sources have said the Big 12 has already offered Louisville. What is the SEC really going to do about #14 ? So the fact is we can't consider this until we see who is left. I hope it all works out for us, but how do you know until the dust settles.

B12 ironically won't go to 12 teams- Texas doesn't want a conference championship game because it's another roadblock to BCS championship game. So B12 will add at least one, at most two teams- if Mizzou goes to SEC. Also, BYU and Air Force will be candidates.

Big East vs. Big 12: Which is more stable?

I was just ready to post the link as well as this is an interesting read and clearly points out that the Big 12 is far from stable or a better landing spot...

The money will likely be just as good in the Big East. Currently, the Big East has two contracts with ESPN (one for men’s and women’s basketball through the 2011-2012 school year and one for football through the 2012-2013 school year) and one with CBS for men’s and women’s basketball through 2012-2013.

Earlier this year the Big East turned down a deal estimated to be worth up to $130 million a year from ESPN. It was unclear if this offer was only for first-tier rights or if it included second-tier rights similar to the deal ESPN made the ACC. CBS has been a television partner with Big East basketball since the 1981-1982 season, so it’s hard to believe they wouldn’t continue the relationship.
