b/c he's a QB guy, and a former NFL HC.

What a shocker...the Ticket turns the conversation to the Cowboys.

- How important was this win?
- Incredible things for the team. happened 4 times in 08 - lost a lead. big barrier to break. starting to prove it in big games

-Confidence snowballing into expectations. winning close games defines you year.

-GP upset at words?
-Doesnt understand. trying to pay complement. losing is frustrating .. gives GP BOD.
-tried to emulate what GP is doing. look closely at how they do things. decisions 10 years ago paying off.
-what we're trying to do here. no hard feelings for GP.

-2 toughest CF & SM.
- bye week is good. 4 players that wouldnt play this week. another sign it might be our year. build momentum & take enthusiasm into next games. JJ hasnt taken snaps yet bc of soreness.

-Conference questions - maybe BE?
-not considered if we werent winning right now. if we get to another bowl, were in the convo. whether defined or redefined conference. should be in almost any conversation.

-4x16? but rather 5 larger confs?
-leaking over 4x16 but thats what higher ups want. but now another conf with viable teams worthy of aq bid. -thinks it ends up 4x16 in time.
-at the moment a very small chance smu gets into 4x16. but never know. us winning & being on tv 8 times nationally. exposure being noticed nationally now.

-coach of offence? tony romo??? (REALLY??) thoughts? (nice norm)
-feels awful for cowboys & romo.
-injuries suck blah blah blah.
-tony romo fan - need him to play well to win. blah
-thought dets d would wear them out

-coached all levels of fb. point where qb stops improving? not coachable?
-tony 31. change in environment affects play. times when eyes open in different situations
-tony keeps getting better until 36-37. seen it all done it all. hes a player. if not here, on another team

-Dallas unforgiving. worry about crowd turning on romo? (jesus norm.... really????)
-qb has to handle good & bad from fans/media, etc.
-tony can handle it. not going to be one to play only to 32-33.

That's where their bread is buttered, but I fell into the same trap as Dutch.

I'm underwhelmed.

Pretty blah considering the hype here!

Highlight was probably JJ's confirmation of GP's and TCU's help in FB program rebuilding matters.

Smart and diplomatic!

This is how every SMU appearance goes on the Ticket. 1 or 2 questions about SMU and on to other topics. That's all fine and good if it is a weekly show, but I blame these kind of appearances on the SID or someone else in the AD for not telling the Ticket to stay on point.

Also need to give JJ talking points to help steer the conversation. A mention about supporting the team next weekend would be nice, "hey Norm we have a great deal and think Dallas should come support us against a good squad next week". How hard would that be? They're our flagship for gosh sake.

Interesting that he mentioned SMU and the Big XII, Big East and CUSA not SEC. And he said, we probably would be on the outside of the 4 - 16 team conference alignment idea. Someone didn't tell him to keep the leak going.
