Not sure about that. If the Big East doesn't collapse altogether, I have serious doubts about whether it retains AQ status.

Of course not.

I would love, just love to know from his own lips why he decided to advocate so strongly for them. We kept his wife busy, we took her stupid effin horses, his granddaughter went to SMU, he lives in Dallas, he effin eats frozen custard on Knox St. I want answers.

The Big 12 (-2 eh -3 ehh 14+1) is still an unstable TRAIN WRECK!
BEVO and the Okies are still looking for a best case exit strategy and will be gone as soon as the $$$ situation clarifies itself.
Why do you think BYU obviously said No Thanks we'd rather play in the WCC and keep our Independence instead of being BEVO's Best Bustt Buddy?
TCU, in their thankfulness, couldn't bend over fast enough as BEVO gave them their initial welcome.
The BE is where SMU needs to concentrate to grab AQ status and make a BCS game.
By the time of the next round of musical chairs SMU will be a well place AQ playa!
Besides BE BB is worth the price of admission alone.

Part of what made the Big East interesting is having TCU in there. Take out a Map-look at the schools left. I don't know if it makes sense unless they break off from BB schools and form a Southern Division. Does the Big East even have interest in SMU w/o TCU? Does SMU have interest in the Big East when more teams are taken

Big East is collapsing. See what CUSA-MWC merger looks like. Dump the dead weight.

does Big East even have interest in SMU given they said the other day it was to pair us up as a travel partner to TCU.
I think it could possibly open the door for Houston.
Houston
UCF
USF
SMU
who else in south?

Or, should certain members of C-USA and MWC have an airport meeting to discuss forming a new conference with WVU, L'ville, USF, and BYU. Orsini should at least be exploring this if not heading it up.

Doomsday scenario. BE with no TCU is not an upgrade-they'll lose BCS bid soon at this rate. We're better off in a combo of the best of MWC and CUSA cutting out the dead weight in both.
I hope we can get a deus ex machina PAC, B1G, or SEC invite

This is a perfect time for a Steve Jobs quote from 1998:
"And if we want to move forward and see Apple healthy and prospering again, we have to let go a few things, here. We have to let go of this notion that for Apple to win, Microsoft has to lose. We have to embrace the notion that for Apple to win, Apple has to do a really good job… the era of setting this up as a competition between Apple and Microsoft is over as far as I’m concerned."
TCU and SMU can both win. This is not a zero-sum game.
