I agree, just move the game 30 minutes back or push boulevard 30 minutes forward, so everyone has time to get to the beginning of the game

I do not have the ability to respond to this young person. We live on different planets. We want to attract people to the game and he wants to keep anyone not associated with SMU kept out. I cannot even begin to say anything.

I have a spot and we shut down 20 minutes before game and we encourage everyone to make kickoff. We all just need to start talking it up. Ask everyone at your spot if they are going to the game. If so they can mooch a beer if not they get nothing.

So you just don't want to have to wait in line to get YOUR free food. seriously.

I don't care who is at the boulevard - the more the merrier. I for one had a buddy from A&M and his wife from UGA come by my tailgate, and even gave them food and beer. they're my friends, and i pay for the boulevard spot, for food, and tons of beer. I can give it to whoever i want.
I also had a buddy from TCU at my boulevard spot. he came in the game and enjoyed it. THESE are the people we NEED at games. the BLVD gets them there. it's up to us to get them in the door.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

We attract bums not future fans.. moochers not contributers.. You are right on different planets: I live in reality, you live in a dream. If you like handing money (food, drinks) to people who will not contribute anything than you are a great example of the U.S. Welfare system

Ok thats fine hes on your spot, Im referring to the business school where my money goes and is still continuing to go to. You are perfectly correct on You giving Your friends stuff. Im not fine with my money going to people who arent going to benefit the school any way. Thats why Im saying if they purchase ticket to game (benefits school), buy a spot on the vard (benefits school), eating for free and leaving (doesnt benefit school). The Blvd doesnt get people to the game, its time to wake up and realize that a whole lot of people at the vard dont go to the game.

Yay!! I am on welfare. Now I must say I have been accused of many things but never this. You are the one asking that nobody get anything but you. Only food for you. Only play games where you can go. Only do what you want to do.

The business school hosts those to spread the word about Cox as well as for current students and alumni. just like they put ads on the radio. they want people who have no affiliation with SMU to know about and possibly decide to go to grad school. PMBA & EMBA, MBA, MSA, etc.
and for the record, I'm a full tuition paying Cox student currently. I don't go to the Cox tent, so i'll elect to let Kevin give my food and beer to someone in hopes of getting them to apply. more applicants = more selective admission = better students = more value to my degrees.

so you are in law school and business school? Just curious because you are an expert on both tents.
You're acting like a real jerk. I hope you someday are fortunate enough to be able to start contributing to the SMU community instead of just sucking life from it.

Re: Poor student attendance
Restricting vard shoots us in foot. Key is to convert the heathens - we need to all make it a culture to go to game and publicaly shame those that don't. Let's move the party inside. Let people re-enter and open up a mustang club bar at halftime somewhere easy inside the stadium.
Re: Poor student attendance
My first experience on the boulevard was with my daughter in law. She took me to the cox tailgate. I had a free meal and 2 beers. I was sold on the boulevard and have contributed 10,000 times that in the last 4 years. The boulevard works recruiting perspective contributors

Yes cause I paid for it. I dont see how you cant see the implication of giving food to those who dont but expect those who pay for the school not be a little upset. Obviously the law school care about their students. You are calling it free food. I call the 5000+ dollars in student fees as my meals. Again if you are getting all upset over a couple posts thats criticizing what a person feels, i kind of feel you need to save these posts and realize that you might be a child that never grew up.
FYI: I do work and go to school so... I fail to see your argument, also never said or meant to say you are on welfare, just supporting the similar system, that people who work pay into it so people who dont work can reap the benefits....

SMU_Alumni11 wrote:Ok well clearly letting everyone come to the vard doesnt work either. I mean shooting down ideas that havent been tried yet is not the smartest option. I mean when we to TCU they had alot of gates up to try to deter people going in. I will retract not lettting the opposing team in, but seriously wearing LSU at SMU? I mean c'mon man. Serving beer wont change anything, if it were that simple you would see the daily campus writing about it. You just need to stop giving the benefits (Vard) away before the costs (game). Yes I dont like freeloaders that arent from this school or the opposing team come in and eat. I mean thats why I like the law school tent because they never have food shortages. I hate having to fight my way to get food at the business school, because I remember one time 30 minutes into the vard, and they ran out of food. I mean if you are on scholarship not too big of a deal, but if you are paying all the fees to here which probably cover food; you dont want it to go to people you have no reason to be there.
I cannot tell what you really mean. Could you please label the sentences that you mean more clearly? I mean, it is hard to tell sometimes.
