I do not think I want them to get the death penalty. Unless they hire a Pye clone they would be right back in business within 2-5 years. If they stay active, this situation will be on the minds of every recruit and every recruit's parents for many, many years. The effect will be devastating for the sports programs. The worst punishment the athletic department could receive is to have to try and function with all the criminal and civil cases that will be taking place over the next several years. I feel a little sorry for the current athletes but not for the institution that allowed these events to take place.

Hi there, Speaking of death prediction, I find it really odd that one of the on-line death prediction services showed me the same death date that I was foretold in my dream about a year ago. http://yourdeathdate.info/1/index.html - I can’t explain this coincidence in any other way except that there must be some kind of magic involved here.

Agreed, and NO F*'ing way there where 'only' 8 boys involved, especially when you consider how public many of these 8 known assaults were.

Big Question is will the truth, all the truth, be made public, or will parts of it be swept under the rug.

IMO, best hope that the full truth comes out will probably be via attorney's filing civil suits against Penn St and Paterno.

Mrydel,

care to comment on Ponyte's assertion about Arkie players sick tradition?

I do believe that was Ponyte sarcastic talk. Arkansas players have a UT type of history of questionable activities that are typically very lightly punished. I recall Lloyd Phillips shooting up one of the dorms once but when it is an All American it becomes "boys will be boys". But as bad as the Arkies have been, nothing compares to this PSU deal in my lifetime that I can recall.

I remember listening to the ticket and they were reading the handbook, and there are specific NCAA rules on how to address situations, and most of the criteria the Penn State Athletic department failed to produce. Remember the death penalty is the repeater violation clause (something to that extent), with so many different counts there could be justification to enforce it on Penn state, because if the NCAA sits back and says its not our problem. People will have no care if players get paid and penalized but former coaches can go on school grounds and rape kids and have admin lie to grand jury and cover it. Its kind of the debate between actual death penalty and life sentence. As some pointed out, it would be almost more punishing to leave them alone and make the public destroy them and imagine all the recruit parents who are like hell no you are going. Whereas if you get the death peanlty you can end your suffering, which Penn State could do, clean house get entirely new people and in significant amount of time less they can move their program forward to be where they are now.
