He's tall, big, strong, good arm, mobile, can tuck it and run, etc. If he is healthy and pulls it together mentally next year, then I see this team taking a huge leap forward (assuming of course that the aforementioned potential o-line issues are resolved).
Where are you getting this "mental" shipt on Padron? Jones pulls the guy (after a solid 2009 and 2010 campaign) for an unproven transfer. McD had 1 decent quarter against A&M. Played 4 crappy teams where he did well, "contributed" to a victory over TCU. Look at his stats, he didn't beat TCU. He was fortunate not to have 3 pics. McD has totally regressed ever since and hasn't even approached the years Padron had in 2009 and 2010 and you think he's not mentally challenged? My assp. Kp is twice the QB of McD. Jones has his head up his rectum and his ego prevents him from saying he made a huge mistake. Jones, instead of grooming the leader of your club to be a stellar QB his junior and senior years, dicks the guy over and will regret it when he's gone. Wake TF up.

Gotcha- IMO KP has several issues that keep him from being a top QB. I suspect these are the same things that JJ was concerned about. They are: a) he has happy feet, b) he stares down his receivers, and c) he doesn't seem to go through the receiver reads. Last year he also had a big problem holding the ball too long.
I like KP and hope he will be ok after his surgery. He has the tools to be successful he just needs learn JJ's system better and correct some of his bad habits.

Granted -- all common characteristics of a 19 year old QB with limited experience. Jones kills 2 years by pulling him, rather than developing him. We should be seeing our team compete with Houston for the Division Title again. Not just scraping by hoping to get to the New Orleans Bowl. Had Kp played this year and furthered his QB education, the potential for 2012 could be really special. Jones' poor decision haunts us in 2011 and will kill us in 2012.

Are you implying that KP will regress even more next year?

No, I personally think we have seen the last of Kp wearing an SMU uniform.

So now he's going to pout, pack his bags and quit on his teammates. If I don't play and start I quit. Wow!! Outstanding qualities in a person.

HaHa. I guess you never played college football. When your goal is to play D1 and the guy who makes the decisions screws you over after starting 21 straight games, you owe it to yourself to find a home. Ever heard of June Jones? Let's see...he began his career at oregon. transferred to hawaii. transfered to Portland state....outstanding qualities in a person? I think Kp is a pretty stand up guy. Ask his teammates, they'll tell you the same thing. None of them will question Kp in the slightest. Only a bunch of wanna be's will even suggest what you are saying. Those that played will echo my sentiment. look at Jones, he's a perfect example.

Screwed- how did he get screwed? He started a game and played very poorly. As a result he was replaced. We will never know if he could have gotten back on the field or not because he hurt his back. As the old saying goes- if you can't stand the heat, don't go into the kitchen.
We'll know soon if he stays or goes. I really think he will stay. Why? he is not an NFL level QB and where can he get a better education and make more business connections that at SMU.

What was KP's record over the last 8 or 9 games he played?

Gotcha- in one statement you say '19 yr old inexperienced QB' and in another you state he started 21 consecutive games. Starting 21 games doesn't sound exactly like 'inexperienced' to me..
I hope he has the fortitude to stick it out. If not we will all have our own impressions of what he was or wasn't.

I'm a Methodist-I'm proud to be a Methodist. When is the last time a Methodist said something particularly stupid. The marriage between organized religion and politics into TV Evangelism and an alleged Moral Majority has been an evil curse on our country, is a perversion of religion and follows a doctrine that I don't recognize as moral. Is there even one prominent Methodist that follows this ugly marriage between right wing fundamentalism and politics. The irrational attack on science should be particularly disturbing to any logical person. More thoughful people need to question those that follow this ugly religion that bears little relationship to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
