Let's not get tied up in press releases and sound bites--what is important is how he confronts his supporters, friends and team members--although he does sound like a frieght train just ran over him and someone just programed his responses.

I guess this explains, in part, why he went to Birmingham - so he could start putting out his bs spin on what happened. Out-of-towners don't know the story like we, and ASU, does, and won't grill him like our local sports guys would (maybe). Also, his arrogance is nauseating.

Rocky- IMO you don't understand. The only thing this university understands is $$$. When they see that the old members are disappearing and less money is coming in then perhaps they will act to make a change. Until then it is status quo. Less fans supporting the program = less money.
Perhaps if some of the contributors to the 'Unbridled' campaign started notifying RGT that they were withdrawing because of the JJ issues it would have additional impact. JMHO.

too many folks acting like the proverbial "woman spurned"

So CP- what do you suggest that we do to get results?? Give us some specifics on how we can get rid of this idiot and move forward with a coach of integrity and interest in our university.

Makes no sense to take your ball and go home. With three trips to bowls and an accepted invitation to a major FB conference, SMU, Turner and SO have pulled a rabbit out of the hat labeled 20 years in the desert.

I am not pleased by JJ's flirtation, but SMU and these players deserve our admiration. Four years ago, we were depressed without real hope. There is more work to be done, but we have escaped from purgatory. Stallion is right.

Arrogant? Yes.

Necessary? Yes.

This HAS to be the public face of what happened. If he runs his mouth saying I was looking to leave but ASU wouldn't have me, then we have no chance of keeping any of this coming recruiting class. He needs to be kissing some @ss with the CoC - they were the ones who got him here and they will be the ones who will keep him here. While I would like to think my opinion has some sway over his behavior, I know it doesn't.

This is the time for us to suck it up a little, allow for the appropriate reconciliations to be made (behind the scenes), and move forward.

Laken is busy covering the Ticketcity Bowl. Apparently people aren't tweeting enough about SMU today so she has no idea what's going on.

Hahaha I thought the same thing.

But yea, everyone, stop buying tickets and pull your MC donations. That'll show everybody. You'll look like such a badass who made such a big statement. No one will ever [deleted] with you again!

Idiots.

It's great that people on a messageboard spouting nonsense, half-truths and pure supposition know "the real story" and the people who actually make the decisions do not.
