Well that was a waste of my time. I haven't been on PonyFans since this morning, so I'm watching Dale and waiting for the interview. June's a no show...surprise, surprise.

Dale responded to my email asking him to ask June tough questions. He said that June wasn't going to be on tonight (obviously). He said that he was planning to ask some of the hard questions about the ASU situation.

He also said that it was an "unfortunate reality" that SMU is a stepping stone for coaches.

I replied that it was the timing that was especially unfortunate. He responded (color me impressed) that this sort of thing happens all the time, "just ask Houston."

Unfortunately, if you are a school that has to hire, you have to do it with some time to spare before signing day. Which means now. Every single weekend this time of year is a recruiting weekend. So interviewing is always going to impact a recruiting weekend. It is absolutely unavoidable.

No matter what profession you are in, there is never a good time to get fired, and there is never a good time to leave the company you are working at.

June was at the Cowboy game in the box next to us last night with with his son, and THAT was his conflict BTW. Cowboy/Giant game vs talking to Dale?........Cowboys won out.
SO was in the same box with June and were very friendly, so no apparent issues between them I could see...SO said he will be at the Lunch today for the first time all year.

Got this e-mail back from Dale Hansen who I sent an e-mail about a few questions to ask June ( IF June had of made the interview last night);

"He’s not on tonite or I woud have …. But all coaches are always looking
It’s a dirty side of the business …

And I would never stop anyone from leaving for a better job (Klemm) … so I doubt june will either

Hansen emailed me that he wouldn't ask my question cuz he's a"big fan" of June. J ust our luck.
I wrote back that I thought he was "a reporter."
Would that he was a "fan" in ''87.
