Huh?
UH and USM, the best teams from last year, will have major down years (best players graduated and all new coaching staffs). If we are scared playing AT UTEP then we need to join the Sun Belt (that's a blow out game for us). That leaves the powerhouses of Tulane, Memphis, and Rice to beat (sarcasm) to get to the CUSA championship game. With Zach Line in beastmode, DJ breaking records, GG at the helm?, and most of our defense returning, I say 9-3 should be our expectation.
When was the last time we did more than squeak by UTEP? We haven't won at UTEP since 2002
Going to be a challenging year. With no experienced QB and very possibly a starter that has never taken a D-1 snap as well as a new O-line we have a lot of issues to address. Unless the 'stars align just right' we will be lucky to end the season at .500.

GO PONIES!!!
I'm countin' on the stars gettin' lined-up just right. We're gonna take the next step.

5-7 next year and the angry villagers buy new pitchforks. We're about to test the theory "you grow you fan base by having better games...even if you lose them".

Dallas is a winner's town, SMU's fanbase won't grow until they're winning these games against better teams. Until then we'll get an attendance bump (from more fans showing up to the watch the other team) but it won't carry over to other home games.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

The theory will be tested for the next 2 years as far as OOC goes. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Not going to happen...we beat Baylor on the road and win 10 games next year. Our WRs are going to explode under Jason Phillips. Gilbert is on a mission to prove his critics wrong. The kid is working his [deleted] off.
