Yea, I picked up on it. But what I'm saying is, when RGT hired SO, it was like the blind squirrel finding an acorn. I'm still not convinced he's as committed to athletics as we need him to be

I keep waiting for Turner to wake up from this apparent spell and return to his draconian campaign against big-time athletics. Sleep on, sweet prince. SteveO was the impetus for all this and I have no Earthly idea what caused him to make that hire in the first place, but lucky for us. Fortunately, I think the increase in applications and money donations is what keeps him in this trance and those are largely thanks to bowl games and Big East excitement.

Right- all I'm saying is, I don't want RGT hiring a new AD anytime soon. Orsini has done an A+ job since arriving here, all things considered. We've taken one step forward, lets not go two steps back

Also, if I'm Swarbrick, I'm really skeptical of the Big 12 job. The only thing keeping the Big 12 together is Texas not bolting for the Pac-12. When that happens (and I think it will in the coming years), the conference collapses.

This will be the Pac-12 (16?) by 2015 at the earliest, 2020 at the latest:

Pac-16 East- Texas, Tech, OU, OSU
Pac-16 South- USC, UCLA, ASU, Arizona
Pac-16 West- Stanford, Cal, Colorado, Utah
Pac-16 North- Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, WSU

16-team conferences are the future. The SEC, Big Ten, and perhaps ACC will do it as well. The 4 4-team divisions allow scheduling to be easier and better rotation.

I think we'll see a "final 4" for each conference with a 2-game championship series.

Well, unlike USC's recruiting, Pac-12 expansion could have a direct and potentially very negative impact on SMU.
