Because five makes everyone feel good "oh, so only those four, and one more, phew, I thought it as rampant, wow, TCU isn't that bad after al, better than most programsl"

The actual number reported is 16 positives, 5 outside the range of false positives. And Junior, you're exactly right. With no other information this is just as credible as Brock saying 82 and the other guy saying 60. We'll probably never know unless the results are subpoenaed and I doubt it. But who cares? I, and I think you are, just pointing out how ludicrous it is that people accept that there are 4 dealers but only 5 potheads on the team. That there are more tests being reported by this source than players on the team. That this was isolated to pot, etc, etc, etc.

Pretty big failure on the distributors fault if their 4 football player dealers could only find one guy to purchase his chronic.

TCU is a scum school and if they want to give each other hand jobs until they blister, so be it. Just keep your purple idiocy on Killerfrogs. Nobody (that doesn't own TCU underwear) is buying over here.

Having played and having been tested before, I can tell you that these internal tests happen all the time at every school. The players would never know the results - which is why no one should believe the numbers tossed out by brock/johnson. Also, the internal tests are never made public - the coaches/athletic departments deal with it. Why do you think a player might be suspended for a violation of team rules?

I would imagine there were tests or will be in programs throughout the country.

I haven't read all the articles but always assumed Brock/Johnson's numbers were based on them knowing/seeing others use vs actual test results.

Right. We'll never know what TCU doesn't want to make public, how many or what was done to them. Unless the police subpoena information, it's a closed issue for what we will know. But the leaked "5" number is a joke. The four dealers claiming to be selling to the team and one other guy smoking it? Goodness, gracious what a terrible business that would be.

why do you assume the 4 dealers tested positive? it's bad business to smoke your inventory.

Okay, none of the dealers smoked (contrary to sworn affidavits), 5 customers tested positive and 11 others are positive but not beyond the error margin of the test...so the number swings to 9-20 involved with pot, about 25% of team, which I find more believable but certainly not "5"...the problem is, the same report saying 5/11 also says 86 negative players...so 86+9/20= 95/106 players being tested...that's a lot of players...maybe they mean players and personel but that isn't how it's being reported. It isn't 5 and the other numbers are screwed up in that unsourced leak.

What is our current drug abuse policy for ordinary students at SMU. If you're caught selling, I'm sure expulsion is likely, but smoking dope would seem to me to be something that gets you counseling. There were entire frat houses floating when I was there.
