Bottom line... Doh and his staff failed miserably and it's time to move on. All of Doh's as# kissers and dissenters need to look forward and give the new regime a chance to succeed. Support them and let them do their jobs.

My boss hired me for that know-it-all,brash, persona. Oh yeah, you should thank my boss for the 7ft big visiting today, just saying.

Why is it you've made several posts on this thread, and all are cheerleader rah rah garbage. Ever talk actual basketball, roster planning, recruiting, any of it?

What exactly do you do hoopmanx?

Although I'm on the sidelines of this cat-fight, I can appreciate what both of yall are saying. Hopefully LB is a bridge builder, building a lasting bridge of strength and structure for the future success of SMU basketball.

Over my career, much of it has been basketball marketing for major apparel companies.

Here's the thing, you're right. We all hope this is the bridge and right now the future is looking up. Still,it's a program and were going to hit n miss. As much as we applaud the hits, you have to evaluate the misses too.

What a collosal waste of board space this conversation is.

Hoop we are happy to have you on the board - i think you are very knowledgable and a very welcome basketball voice. You seem to have insider info which is why most of us look at these boards.

I really dont understand the junior debate team nature of alot of these posts. Its boring and immature.

Nobody can or is arguing that Doh was successful - it is simply an observation that although we all are very hopeful LB gets us elevated - so far the actual signed transfers are only slight better then what we have seen from Doh. That seems correct to me. It also seems correct that this staff is connected and is on it and "gets it" and is bringing in unbelivable talent that is giving SMU a good look - and it is obvious to me that the package of Big east, LB and staff, new facilities, Dallas, and SMU campus (in that order) will eventaully get us that level of player at SMU and will produce results the likes of which we havent seen in, well,... ever. Cant wait.

Case closed.

I completely agree w you. I just have no patience for Johnny come lately types w blanket statements not based on anything concrete. We've done some good things this offseason and had some real disapointments. It's just not all unicorns and rainbows, which the staff readily admits. Be nice if a few more fans kept it objective like you

If this conversation is a "colossal waste of board space", then why did you add to the waste and who made you the final say on topics?

What negative spin? It is what it is.

Doh had his wins in recruiting (Dia, McCoy, and those mentioned earlier in this thread), and they were celebrated here when they occurred. BUT there were also a lot of head scratchers (the most recent of which was JFrog, who gave his all for SMU which was very appreciated but just didn't have the raw talent of others we could have had). Further, Doh had an issue developing talent, as most players did not seem to get any better over their career on the Hilltop (or they would leave early - see McCoy).

Larry Brown has recruited very well so far - his gets are all top-quality guys with no headscratchers in there yet. Plus, I think that he will be better at developing talent and in-game tactics than was Doh, which will lead to much better bottom-line results. That is yet to be seen, but I am impressed with how Brown and Co. have done so far.

I follow wins and losses, and after 6 long years of precious few wins and a lot of really embarrissing losses, its all looking really good to me Debbie.

The big difference between Doh and LB will be quite evident when the Ponies take the floor. LB is a leader of men and will earn the respect of his team.

Hoopmanx has officially become the self-important know-it-all for the basketball board that Stallion is for the football board. Hooray!
