If you were ever in the B-School (COX) they always have a great spread, its free. Just sign in and sit down. Sooner or later you will run into someone you know--only problem after a number of years the only person you might recognize is the guy staring back at you in the mirror.

For those of you that don't feel wanted--forget it. Just say hello with someone in your age group and have fun. Bring a few beers to start, but most people are just there to have fun and love to entertain people that are fans. We are all interested in getting as many SMU fans to the games as possible.

You have: an alumni tent that sells food and drinks; the B-School (see above) which is free; and the Mustang Club which is free to members at a certain level and for others there is a fee. In addition, engineering, law have their own tents. But, beleive me, most private tents want you to come by and help finish the food so it doesn't go to waiste before the game starts. Just introduce yourself. As you get to know people volunteer to bring, food or beer or wine next time--believe me these are not exclusive clubs! We have never been asked, but if someone wanted to put their beer in our coolers while they walk the Blvd. I am sure it would be fine--put six in get six out! No problem.

The idea is to see old friends and meet new people that love the Mustangs. We even open up to fans from visiting schools. Have fun!

I would like the fraternity tents moved down to Doak Walker Plaza and move up toward the Mustangs. If any of you went to the Armed Forces Bowl you may remember how that whole area at the north end zone was like the fair, with a band stage and numerous tents and corporate promotions.

The reason behind my suggestion is to get the students closer to the stadium and their seating. Maybe one day we will allow students to leave and return at half time and their tents to re-open for 30 minutes or so. As it is organized now, the students are closer to their cars and the fraternity houses than the stadium. At Wake Forest the student tents are just outside their seating area, yet close enough for alums to visit.

My wife let Turner have it when he moved them off the Blvd and toward Dallas Hall. She loved seeing our kids and their friends mingle with the alums and their friends. His response was the students don't really care where they are. Her response was those of us footing the bill for those students do!

Anyway, I would imagine things will be changing as the sophomore dorms are completed. But, I do wish the students were closer to the stadium.

A perfect place for open picnic tables would be the commons area in front of the men's freshman dorms. It is generally well shaded and close to the stadium. I have always been surprised that some enterprising freshmen or student organization haven't setup a booth to hold coolers and help people transfer their coolers from the turn around near the church, before and after the games.

As a suggestion, maybe we should have flyers or signs along the BLVD explaining the rules and a map of tents to make people feel more welcome.

All four have now graduated. I thought that I was suggesting we actually get as many student to the game as possible and make the game day atmosphere more exciting and more inviting for visitors. Sorry to have gotten you excited about four buildings housing freshman men.

Getting the students closer to the stadiums a good idea and is being discussed. too many distractions apparently lower the percentage that make it inside the game - although truthfully we have among the best attendance on a percentage basis of any school in the country for our students - there just aren't enough of them.

I did graduate (68') from the B-school but have never stopped at their tent. Where is it located?

Right in front of Cox. I stay at the BUS Stop, Special Delivery and 33 along with a fourth meal at the Mustang Club every now and then. But I have had a meal or 2 at the B-school tent and it is very good.

The Boulevard is kind of like church. All are welcome!
I can understand being a little shy at first but walk up to someone and say "GO Mustangs... that smells good, can I trade you a shot of Jeager for a bite?"

I misspeldd that I know.

SMU fans are very friendly and will even make friends with the evil competitor fans. This is not T Tech. We understand the game but life is better with friends.

Come to the BUS Stop or Special or 33 and you will get started on the right foot.

Question: How do the Fraternities handle game days?

When I was there, we had just returned to the dump. We had a party in the house, alums would wander in, and everyone would wander over to the field.
