I thought we were trying to get taller players. How many offers does Sanders have?

None currently, last year he had offers from Coog High and Denton High. He'd never see the field for us.

Thanks sbs. Hopefully they go after some top talent with only 3 slots left.

Taller players are overrated.

You guys are just too hung up on things like multiple BCS offers, good speed, Rivals ratings, height, vision, having ever played above the JV team in high school...

None of that matters - the key questions are (1) does the kid WANT to play at SMU, and (2) how little can our staff work and actually get them here.

Note that #1 isn't as important as #2, which strangely and inexplicably has a direct correlation to everything that is "overrated".

I will give the staff the benefit of the doubt on the last 3 scholarships and say they will hit a home run on all three. They can be selective at this point and go after high caliber players.

This kid is one of the Atlanta 3. He's just the type of outside WR we should have always been recruiting.

Got him.

Deion Sanders Jr ‏@DeionSandersJr

Did my time at prep school. Now I can say I am committed to SMU (Southern Methodist University) to play receiver! #PonyUp

Hopefully this leads to Deion Sr. funneling some of those big time players he "mentors" to SMU.

If McManus comes it will definitely be worth it.

Don't we have a major need for a kicker next year?

One thing about is is Deion Jr definitely wanted to come to SMU. If nothing else his name should add some excitement to the hilltop.
