Hart told us this on day one, but it was so shocking everyone assumed it was just AD-speak.

Seriously??? As much whining goes on here, I can't believe that is not a 100 page thread!

We would have the IPF if Jones had not been afraid to let his players cross the street. That is not Hart's fault.

Heard the rumor that The Catholic Seven will ask SMU to join them, along with two other universities. When the Seven pay a tithe for the name B.E., they will change its meaning to The Big Ecumenical Conference. Shalom ya'll.

It would appear from the outside looking in, this school has no desire to take the next step and be competive on a national level. If SMU is happy with the football program winning 6-8 games a year and going to lower to mid level bowls every year, thats fine.
Maybe basketball will be different but I will wait a few years to see if that takes hold.
I'm not trying to put SMU down, but to the SMU supporters who are not well connected but buys season tickets, supports the Mustang Club etc... This is what it looks like.

If that were true I would do it in a heartbeat. At least basketball would be in a relevant conference with better TV money and you place football wherever you can. Maybe even the Sunbelt Conference and you keep Baylor Texas A&M Texas Tech and TCU on the schedule. Hope to win 1 or 2 and have a 8-4 to 10-2 season every year.

As an anti-basketball person that would be horrible haha. The money argument though could convince me and the fact our fan attendance in football would be the same only make it seem like if the offer happen it would be accepted... I just hope it doesn't come to that. If it did I would say scrap football and replace football with baseball. My convincing argument: if we played in sunbelt we would be below NTCC...

Heard a rumor, that the conclave which convenes in Rome next week, will require the winning Cardinal to be able to name the universities, which comprise the Catholic Seven. Kind of like in the movie "Diner".

You better get on board since it's about to be the only smu sport worth following.

With the 7 gone plus the other defections....how long will LB realistically want to hang around? From an outsider's perspective it appears as though LB came on board to be part of the Big East. With his history of moving around frequently and smu no longer in the Big East it seems likely that he won't be around for long.
