Depends on what was in the agreement the two parties signed. my understanding is that bush library has agreement to limit height of buildings south of it, including the mrs bairds site.
If the IPF is sunk in the ground a bit it will only be approximately one story tall and downtown will still be visible from the upstairs party and gathering rooms in the Bush Library. They also will probably have some sort of observation deck and outdoor party area on top of the IPF the library can use if desired.Grant Carter wrote:Bush library wants a view of downtown, I cannot see them allowing a tall building like an IPF there.
Thank you. Since you are reading the thread is there any information about the IPF that you can share? Location? Timing?SMU SID wrote:Guys-
It's not an IPF. As PP posted, it's a field for lacrosse, field hockey and IM.
Well aint that a bummerSMU SID wrote:Guys-

Yes, to keep the Catholic 7 happy. Oops.DanFreibergerForHeisman wrote:We are adding lacrosse and field hockey?
No timeline on IPF. Right now we have two big projects underway - Moody & the new tennis complex. As previously stated, most logical place for IPF would be at current track/soccer stadium, with soccer moving to Pettus with new stadium there.Grant Carter wrote:Thank you. That leaves Track & Field without a destination, since I presume a soccer stadium can be placed at Pettus location, but not with a running track surrounding it.SMU SID wrote:No timeline on IPF. I agree. I have no idea how they plan to fit a regulation size soccer field there. I think they seriously need to consider removing the track around westcott, leave soccer there. Place the IPF where everyone thought it was in the diagrams in this thread and in the future build a state of the art Track & Field complex with a fieldhouse and possibly an indoor track and field complex on the other side of central. Maybe even put swimming and diving next to it. Then when we have the money we should put a baseball and softball field over there.Stallion wrote:I haven't measured it but I SERIOUSLY doubt a soccer field could be put on Pettus because a soccer field is longer and wider than football field
