Actually the high draft picks are usually 4 and 5 star players. There are not that many 4 or 5 star players so the NFL has to have the 3 star a fewer players to fill out the roster.
By that thinking the NFL would contain almost all the 5 star recruits and then fill out the numbers. I could buy that but nearly 50% of five star players never make the NFL
Their are only a few players rated 5 star each year.
And they still don't all get to go pro. That's my point.

I guess that is why some coaches have depth problems because they say they have recruited well when they really have not. Some believe it or not even lose their jobs because of bad recruiting while they say they have recruited well.

Failure rate if still higher for 2 players as a whole. That is my point.

Yes, so you'll have to target popped collars when throwing tortillas

I usually aim for the croakies myself ... will be a good time and as a Dallasite I always appreciate the chance to walk to a Tech game.

Yeah we're going to have to disagree on this. To my mind having half the players in the NFL come from a small group of elite prospects tells me that the recruiting rankings are legit.

You act like coaching staffs don't have a high failure rate. See the depth issue SMU has had. By the way, offers seem to matter and SMU has not done to well in that area lately. But since you seem to be a hard core June Jones supporter I guess that does not matter. I just hope we have recruited and developed well on our D Line this year. Proof will be in the pudding.

Well, at least you're honest

You guys are getting sucked into the same debate that occasionally occurs on Tech boards.
2-Star recruit commits and people come out of the woodwork with WES WELKER WAS A 2-STAR ... WES WELKER WAS A 2-STAR ...WES WELKER WAS A 2-STAR ...WES WELKER WAS A 2-STAR.
Reality is that we hit on Welker one time. Big hit indeed, but it only happened once.
Graham Harrell was a 4-Star player, Crabtree as well. Stars absolutely matter, over time, you will have a higher hit rate on higher rated players. Just the way it goes.

I have allowed myself to become sidetracked. August 30th our kids are going to beat their kids because our kids will play a better game then theirs. We are going to see the fruits of teaching kids the right way.
