Yes I was at the game and I was being sarcastic because one side (west) was semi filled at least 100s section but on the other side it looked like without the bands there MSU ruled without question.

SMU Alumni 11, 31 to 30 win in the last seconds of a game is pretty exciting to me. I watched Baylor roll over Buffalo...most of Utah and Air Force. I didn't think either was exciting. Would I rather beat Baylor 31-30 sure. However, few people left the game in the last 2 mins. There was lots of cheering and yelling when SMU scored with 12 seconds left. I don't remember seeing any other scores that close. But, maybe I missed something. I will say that the Miami win must have been an exciting game too. Can't think of any others.

Most other fans are jealous of our Saturday night. "I wish I could've been at the SMU game instead because I bet that was exciting," they say.

I agree with the exciting part. And even better we were on the winning side for a change. Should it have been that close....no, but it was definitely exciting and fun to celebrate a win.

We won't get the casual fan until we play teams that people are interested in and we can compete with them on an even basis while puting an exciting product on the field.
I believe that our bball program will bring the casual fan because of LB/Frazier/Mudiay. Plus we play known teams that are normally nationally ranked.

I can not believe that we are doing absolutely no marketing for bball,especially since Hart was supposed to be a marketing person. I think that success in bball and filling Moody will eventually spill over to fball but not until we play better against the TT's, Baylors, TCU's and aTm's of the world.

SMUer, I know it doesn't help the west side but I heard the chant and got the band's section involved- band and assorted fans. And as for 104, I believe I saw some Beans going on over there. Is that correct?

I usually like to join in with the Bean action and I am in the lower section of 104, but last night I was away from my seat when they did it and wasn't able to join in. Of course when I do I'm sure people are wondering what that crazy old fart is doing. Wish more people would join in...it's fun.

In games past when we have had the Red Blue cheer 104 was involved, but last night I did not hear the cheer otherwise I would have been yelling Blue.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I heard the cheer and yelled blue. A few others caught on just as the chant ended

I'll take the way Baylor handled its business against Buffalo ANY DAY.
