Have to agree with stallion, though not his rhetoric. By this time we should be able to compete with our former SWC mates not just be competitive with MSU.

But the point is we are not, and no amount of scheduling former swc teams is going to magically make us better.

We need better recruits and a better team.

I don't disagree but playing nobodies in front of 10k won't attract recruits either.

At the end of the year when we have a lot of wins it will. USF is attracting recruits with BCS offers and they do not have good attendance. Their stadium looked almost empty when I saw them play at home on ESPN3.

I hope so. As Mack Brown says, "We can get all this righted by winning the" AAC.

your point doesn't make sense since they have been embarrassed in every game-even against FCS teams. They have strong recruiters

I was speaking more about attendance.

If your team sucks, no one is going to your games whether you have "good" recruits or not...

Good recruits will help you win in the future. The previous coach left the cupboard pretty bare. They will need about 2 good classes to get them back on track.

Sorry but gotta say it. What happened to we are 1 1/2 classes away. And the previous coach didn't leave the cupboard bare just look at the receivers he recruited. He even had a good QB returning that June benched.

we are still 1-1/2 classes away because we never got that 1st class he was referring to

Of course we all want wins and a lot of them. But stringing together 4 or 5 10+ wins seasons will do us no good now when major decisions on alignment are most likely going to be made in the next 1 or 2 years. It will be too late if we wait for a number of big win seasons. What we need, or needed was big time attendance to show the big boys that we could draw the people but we need the leverage of the big league to get the players. We failed on the attendance when we quit scheduling the old SWC teams, or other local schools. You saw what we drew with Tech. I do not care if it was mainly their fans, it was still a full stadium. We are losing out on attendance and wins. Attendance we could have gotten much easier with proper scheduling. Today we are in a bind without the ability to get attendance or wins sufficient for attention.

We have had old SWC teams on our schedule over the past several years haven't we? Some are even saying we shouldn't do that. We have aTm and TCU at home next year don't we?

Yes, and we will sell them out. It is when we drop Baylor for MSU to get a win that the mistake is being made. The attendance, at this stage, would have been more meaningful than the win.
