Maybe it's an inflated ego thing for the posters on here? Newsflash: What you write on this website isn't going to influence the team's performance.
I scanned through every post in this thread and find none that have anything to do with your post.

It is not referencing the players reading this forum. It is talking about the player playing for himself and not the media. Abu references how negative we are and how positive the kid is. From there it grew to whether or not the fans in the stands help the players.
Sometime some people just look for something to gripe about even when it is not there.

Went to middle and high school with Randall. Me and my friends would always talk in middle school how we wouldn't be surprised if he went to the NFL or NBA since he was our best basketball player as well. He just exudes that type of hard working attitude.

Again SMUer, I’m not debating your own experience and beliefs. I’m also not suggesting guys are on the sidelines looking in the stands, and/or counting bodies. When I was on the field, I was as intense and focused as anyone. When you can’t hear yourself think, can barely hear signals, play calls and you literally can feel crowd noise rattle your chest … it takes you to another level … it’s not anything you have to think about. You are defiantly aware of it more on the sidelines. If players yelling, chest bumping, back slapping etc. can pump each other up … a loud rowdy crowd is only an extension of that. Maybe you never played in front of huge crowds. I know soccer does not always play to a large crowd. Say except for world cup, or the pro-team in Seattle … and Europe. I have been to SMU soccer games … maybe 100-200 people. I bet if you put those guys in front of say 15,000 fans at Westcott Field, their hair would be on fire with Adrenaline. You have heard coaches say "This was like a playoff atmosphere", the crowd was in it and made a difference. Most sports physiologist will tell you it has an impact.
Again, not an excuse for losing and/or poor play. You are right, any player worth his/her salt better have the ability to crank his own intensity and mojo.

Not sure how that qualifies considering you and others never point one thing out that I said that can be deemed irrational. The most irrational people here are those who want smu to be great and think JJ is the man for the job (sunshiners) or people who think our 3 wins are amazing...those would be irrational statements... But whatever haters be hatin

Welcome to the board. Nice to see a former student from TPMS (besides Randall) around.
