I think cincy played a more solid game than we did since they were able to keep a consistent lead and never really falter. Our offense has to be quick to score and it has to happen numerous times in hopes the defense can show up and stop a few of their drives. It really depends on who shows up to the game. The OOC SMU or the Conference SMU...

Cincy is a good home team, we definitely won't be able to get away with playing 1 half of football against them because they have the personnel to score at will against us.

Cincinnati scored 34 and SMU scored 34 on Memphis. Should be a pretty good game.

should be a toss up. We play like we have in a half here and there we'll win. We can't beat about the 70th best team in country probably don't deserve a bowl

Reminded me of Tech with short, quick passes. They'll get a lot of yards on us. We need to keep them to field goals while we score TDs.

We have to play physical with their receivers and jam them. I think the key is our offense of course, but our defense needs to play very physical (shut down the run and push their receivers around). It would be great if we could get in the PLUS turnover column as well.

This game is our super bowl.

Jam the receivers at the line? I'll believe that when I see it. I can't remember a time I've seen agressive DB play. 5-yard cushions all day, every day. This eats us alive, unless we decide to blitz.

We need to play 4 qtrs of total kick-[deleted] fball or we will lose by 14 pts or more. I think cincy will give us fits in the secondary as that is one of our weaknesses. I expect them to try and stretch the field and do a lot of vertical passing. Their O-line seemed to block pretty good even though memphis got to the qb on a couple of blitzes. Problem is, so far this season we have not done a lot of blitzing or have not been successful when we tried. The cincy D is average but then again we have had probs with our O-line so it will be interesting to see how we handle them.

Overall, I think we can beat them but must play lights out if we are going to win. JMHO

The body, the body, the body. Need to pop that QB in the ribs a few times. He was hurting last night.

I didn't see much vertical passing game from Cincy last nite. Memphis has a pretty good defense though that keeps them at least competitive. Cincy left about 10 point off the scoreboard offensively but then again Memphis' receivers are gawd-awful. They are so bad ot is hard to project from that game how strong Cincy's defensive secondary is. Overall they held Memhis about 100 yards less than SMU but we had 20 more yards than the Cincy offense had against Memphis defense

Memphis exploded (penalties, turnovers, poor execution/catches). They did some similar stuff against us but not full bore like last night. Just goes to show they are not a good team. Cincy looked consistent on both sides f the ball. Nothing flashy but consistent.

I do think we have to do several things in addition to the things we do well to win. One, hold on to the ball. Two, reduce stupid penalties. And three, play 4 quarters of better defense.

This is a winnable game but as always, we have to make improvements, play hard and well for 4 quarters, and eliminate mistakes. And score early and often.

Blitzing Acker or Parks worked the 2 times we've done it, one apiece. I say we can't blitz Acker since he is desperately needed to defend passes.

Did you see the pretty 31 yard screen pass when Memphis blitzed? Have to be careful and wise how you do it.
