Cavan seemed to like it here. Both he and his coaching staff always dressed in great SMU gear during games.

GP is way over the edge for me, it will eventually lead to his downfall, but he loves TCU. Meyer had a big personality, but took off at the first opportunity. When was the last time we had a coach that was half as devoted to us as the steaming pile is to TCU? My impression of the coaches since the DP have been more or less corporate types. This is their job and they try to do it well, even with the admin handicaps. They didn't love SMU. When was the last time we had that?

Ron Meyer had a passion for SMU when he coached at the Hilltop. . . Hard to refuse a shot coaching at the NFL level.

actaully on the LOVE SMU scale i would put Forrest Gregg number one all time, and Rossley up there as well. Bennett at least acted the part, but culturally he was a fish out of water, and his staff should have been coaching at east tx state. Cavan and June are comatose.

i think we need a dedicated tactician who also shows some passion and can draw it our of our alumni and students. Its in there, we just get bored easily since we are all spoiled brats. Hurts but it is the truth. We have to be relevant to get anyones interest, otherwise there is a cute girl and a beer at Milo's to be had.

And even more that become cute after an evening at Milo's.

From what I've heard, I'd agree with that, plus the mention of Bennett. Problem is, it's way easier to accept a 'die-hard loyal' coach when he is winning 9, 10, and 11 games a season, something that those guys didn't achieve.

I believe that if Rossley had a few more years he would have gotten there. I know there was a lot involved in his firing as I was working in the dept. at that time, but there was real momentum building and we played at the middle level of our conference. I don't think we would have lost that TCU game in 97 if he was still there.

Dixon is a punk...just take a look at some of his twitter talk after the game. I would rather lose without a punk like that than win with him on my team. And to hide him on the sideline after he was ejected???

Gary has these rants sometimes but give me passion over indifference any day of the week. I want a coach who loses sleep over losses...most great players and coaches are not good losers.

what a buffoon of a human. still referencing himself in the third person as well. and bonus points for the, "I'm in Fort Worth, he knows where to find me" liner. What is he, a grad assistant in the weight room?

the problem with a lonely, socially awkward and insecure Kansas kid becoming wealthy in his fifties, well, he's the same lonely, awkward and insecure man. He's just a tyrant now. Instead of wheat fields and depression, he's surrounded by reporters and tilted fans willing to spin his bs as 'passion.'

On top, he gets a podium and a marriage to a resource-rich school overrating his success earned behind steroided, drug-dealing, academically questionable "sleeper" recruits in weak conferences. Save the Andy Dalton argument. Dalton's parents and offensive staff deserve that credit. But Patterson will take it, naturally.

As a result, we get these gold press conferences. I anticipate more and still own the best part of tcu going big 12 was getting to see the greatest coach in Tarrant county history get outcoached weekly.

I respect people that earn their money with humility and are quick to give credit to others. gary Patterson does neither. The unraveling of him personally and 'his' program has been predictable and pleasurable. I cant wait for 2014.

And if Patterson wants to get cryptic about why Baylor's gotten better of late and how he has managed to let things slide over the years...go ahead. I've seen plenty. I'd love to help the NCAA look into some tcu things.

he does have his own personal towel girl which is kind of strange in a kansas wheatfield kind of way.
maybe he thinks he can beat up art. i sorta doubt it although i would pay to see fatterson roll around in the mud.

Wasn't it around 6 years ago when we were playing tcu in ft. worth when one of the froggies pulled a cheap shot/crackback/blindside block on a kick that essentially ended the career of a Mustang because of the lingering concussion?

Don't remember Fatty being upset about that...

Call it what it is- GP is finally realizing he's outgunned week in and week out in the Big 12, and this is how that personal realization is manifesting itself.

Ask yourself- is that program going to consistently compete with Texas, OU, Tech, Okie State, and Baylor over the next 5 years? Probably not. Would I trade places with them? In a heartbeat.

It will be funny to see the heat get turned up on Fatterson in the coming years and how the Frog fans deal with that

They will compete. The games they lost were by really small margins, so even with their deficiencies, they were able to stay in the game until the very end. In fact, most likely TCU will be in the top 3 for that conference...they have awesome recruits coming in for 2014 and 2015. Just read they just got a 4 star QB kid from Arlington to commit for 2015. They certainly have one of the best facilities in the entire conference and they are in DFW which gives them an edge.

Texas Tech on the other hand, is all smoke and mirrors, and I don't see them competing in that conference starting next year. They are a fraud which started to show when the heat turned up on them.

Baylor will start to gain more relevance now, but the top programs in the Big 12 will be Texas, OU, OK State, Kansas State with TCU and Baylor switching back and forth.

Go away, TCU troll.
