And we have 0 speed. For comparison, Tcu and baylor have track team speed. We need a playmaker badly or at least someone with the potential to "break one" on occasion. Mack should be able to get us that.

Jones was able to take that group, two recruiting classes and turn it into a winner. If June was that poor of a coach, just think of what the next guy could do with a better foundation to start from, and more effort in recruiting.

I pay attention to offers, not Stars. To many of our players don't have any offers from any schools above the Sunbelt/CUSA level. For example, our 4 Star QB recruit's only other offer was UC - Irvine.

Furthermore, our roster has too many WR/Slot guys, too many people under 200lbs, and not enough DL.

The stars are one thing, and obviously there has been star inflation over the past few years. But the overall ranking numbers are still comparative. At the end of the Bennett years, we were getting two star recruits with zero other offers who actually had to be added to the database after they committed to us. It hasn't dropped down to the level of Bennett yet.

A track team would help bring in both speed and size.

most including the media checked out on football a long time ago.

Hate is a strong word, I'm sure he doesn't hate us either. Incompetently reports random misinformation because he's too lazy to do any real research, is probably closer to the truth. If he loves the basketball program so much why can't he throw a bone to the football program? Spread a little positive information. I guess negative sells better than positive.

Dallas media checked out on SMU football a long time ago, with a college football team in their own city, in the most football crazed state in the country, I still don't understand this? The Star Telegram doesn't have any problem covering TCU.Instead of these guys spreading misinformation, constantly taking shots at the program, and protecting a POS like June Jones, why is their rarely ever a positive story outlining all of the potential of the program and the school with the right coach & leadership?

Just seems there is a heavy negative bias here? Again, I guess negative generates more buzz, just the world we live in.

The coverage seems to have increased tenfold because TCU is good.
If they go back into the toilet, I'm sure the Star Telegram coverage will adjust accordingly.

Cowlishaw will never respond to this. He's a big [deleted] just like most journalists these days.

You use that term loosely in reference to Cowlishaw - among others......

UCI doesn't have a football team. Or was his offer in another sport?

Ooops - my bad. Rivals has his other offer from UC - Davis. If you told me that they don't play football either, I would believe you.

No, UCD has a long history in football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UC_Davis_Aggies_football).

I've gotten to know a lot of media members. Cowlishaw might be my least favorite. I can't stand him. Calling him an arrogant [deleted] is an understatement.
