Only to discuss UC would be a possible candidate if the B12 expands. The Sporting News is reporting this

Absolutely zero chance of New Mexico or Tulane. Please. We have virtually no shot but there is absolutely no way they roll with those two schools over SMU.
Sorry but I'd have to agree that they are ahead of SMU in any Big 12 discussions. Hell, I'd stick them ahead of Houston too. The Big 12 does not want or need more schools in Texas.
If SMU is escaping to a P5 its going to have to either be an expanded Pac 12 or an ACC that just got raided by the SEC/Big10.

They promise they'll fill up when Big 12 teams come to town

If Big XII moves immediately to expand, then I agree Cincy & UCF are logical targets to expand the conference footprint and eventually add bang for the buck. Hate to admit it, but SMU and Houston add nothing to the financials. Expansion to 14 would have them looking at Memphis and Tulane before SMU and Houston. Hope it doesn't happen, but if it does the AAC and MWC need to consider putting together a "best of the rest" and could still use the American banner with divisions that could incorporate the Mountain West, South and East. Too bad CUSA is already taken

At least Tulane has had a top 10 program in the BCS era under Tommy Bowden when they had a stud QB. Houston, Tulane, Cincy, UCF...plenty of our conference mates have enjoyed notoriety on the football field in the BCS era

My guess is the first Big 12 effort is a waiver from the NCAA to add a champ game with fewer than 12 teams. If that fails then I bet 2 teams are added soon. Again just a guess on my part.

This does not bode well for us and for the AAC. Has anybody from the b12 spoken with our admin to see if we are interested? I doubt it.
