Sometimes you just need to catch it and tuck it. Let DeMarco punch it in. So many players seem to turn it over going for extra yard.

It was a catch. Possession was established, 3 steps were taken, and 2 football moves made. First being ball transfer and second being extension.

The NFL replay officials never asked to see the video, so they are technically not accountable or responsible for any call they made. Goddell's consigliere, along with the Mara and Rooney family bag men, will handle any questions.

Rule needs to change. Clearly was a catch. Diving for a pylon should not cause the difference between a catch and a non catch bc the play has already been made.

I just don't see how the replay guys can get it wrong. That catch at the end of the 1st half by GB was not a catch when they showed the replay from behind. It was easy to see it hit the ground, yet they still called it a catch. Very puzzling.

I hate it, but I saw the reversal coming based on nfl rules. Total crock for sure though.

Completely agree. That call (though not as substantial) was probably to worst review call I have seen.

But seriously...does it? Why does the rule need to be changed when several replays from this one game regarding catches show they don't even know how to enforce the rule. They actually moved the replay to HQ in NYC this year, and it seems to have gotten worse. At least the former head of EPL officials in England is so ticked about officiating there, he actually wrote an Op/Ed listing his 10 worst officials and calling for them to be demoted or fired. Don't expect to see Goddell or Periera or anyone currently or formerly associated with the NFL to do this here...the NFL doesn't believe in integrity or standards. Heck, they don't even hire officials full time.

The call was correct according to the rule. The rule needs to be changed.

The call was correct according to the rules. It's a stupid rule, but it was enforced correctly.

How does the rule define a football move?

Re: dear god that call
The rule does not mention football move. It says if you catch the ball and are going to the ground you must maintain possession until you are to the ground. When he hit he lost possession. You guys are confusing rules. The football move rule is not the going to the ground move.

Re: dear god that call
they are interlinked. If you have established possession by making a football move you can't therefore be going to the ground in the act of catchingmrydel wrote:The rule does not mention football move.
