IF you take a chance on waiting for someone to become academically acceptable you should do that only with an exceptional athlete. I am sure the coaches will make it very clear going forward to recruits. It is certainly harder when they come in mid year and are not sure what the Jones staff communicated to them.
Looking around, things seem not to be great grade wise for SOC athletes. Similar situation for two DBs who were headed to Wisconsin. SOC has failed its players, lots of 2* players with multiple offers but no commit.
@Matt_Stepp817: Just got a text from South Oak Cliff HC Emmett Jones and he has confirmed he has accepted the offer to join the staff at Texas Tech #txhsfb
E.J. Holland and I used to spar over SOC. He used point out that they have had an influx of talent recently-but I used to point out they've also had pretty small numbers of Division 1A scholarships and had trouble getting their kids qualified
Another source the Texas Tribune said in 2010 the average SAT was even worse 703. These numbers are much lower than other similar DISD schools, other schools in South Dallas County (Desoto/Cedar Hill), the State of Texas and the United States
