I believe it, mainly because I remember where Temple was just about 2 years ago. And Memphis. And Houston.

Unfortunately, not this year. :x

Two years ago they were 2-10, Memphis 3-9, UCF was 12-1, and we extended June Jones's contact.

Lots can change in 2 years.

Coach Morris will produce a winning product here, the fans need to stick with him. When we have an exciting and winning product on the field we will have no problem getting 25K in the stands every game.

I for one am most disappointed in the lack of student support, especially the Greeks. Yes, yes, we attract students for academics and such, not football, but we also brag about attracting leaders. We are not showing it.

The Greeks are a big puzzle. If the Greek turnout was 80% of their total student population, that would make a very loud group on the east side to complement the hard core fans on the west.

It is a privilege to have a chapter house on campus, and with that privilege goes some initiative to provide the leadership to bring back football attendance attitude in our students.

Coach Morris obviously has the football program on an upward trajectory, so it is frustrating to see the Greeks, and of course the rest of the students, not get it that restoring a football-is-fun culture is a tremendous accomplishment for their era of SMU students.

For the record, I am an SMU grad with three degrees in EE, Undergrad was paid for by SEDCO back in the day. I didn't have the time nor money to join a frat, but had many friends who did. Hence, my perspective is an "independent" student like myself could never pack the football culture wallop that Geeks could wield.

SMU alum support for attendance is a separate and difficult question. Winning is probably the biggest factor in restoring alumni support. But if I were an ex-Greek, I would send a letter to the chapter that no money is forthcoming from me until the butts are in the seats.

Can you explain how Coach Morris "Obviously" has the program on an "upward trajectory"?

Because performance follows recruiting. It's not that tough to figure out.

You're a TCU guy, right? Or was it A$M? Just look at TCU game...from 56-0 a year ago to a 5 point game in 4th quarter. Progress is obvious although it may not show in W/L record yet

My drinking at the game is on an "upward trajectory."

Perhaps someone should write an OpEd in the Daily Campus.

No, not especially TCU or AM, for God's sake, but just a guy who looks at winning records. This team, Mustangs, I frequently root for doesn't seem to be on an "upward trajectory." That's all I was asking, explain how this year's results look like an "upward trajectory". Because we played TCU better? Is that it?
