What was the proposed IPF's price tag? It was going to go where the soccer field is now?

Over $100 million it's going to be cut down to 40 to 60,000,000

It was a pretty badass design. But if anyone has a spare 50 mil it will be built quickly.

If oil was at 80 and not less than 40 we'd have our badass version with the upgrades

Wait a minute, you mean to tell me that it's economic reality having a negative effect on the small number of boosters that have for years kept SMU from slipping to NAIA status? I could have sworn that it was a concentrated effort by Turner to d*ck over Morris because he hates athletics?

Not a big player by any means, but some of us were asked for checks for seed money for this project years ago just like we were asked before for money to help finish Crum Center and then again this year for some funds to help with the coaches finish out for Chad. I know those checks went because I wrote them. Again not big ones (except the one for Crum) but I'm sure others have donated as well and would again for an IPF.

Funds can be raised from people, but I think it would be easier to raise if plans more formalized and we didn't have to build a $100 million complex. Should be able to build it much cheaper than that unless it is going to have additional offices, etc.

The point is not that we will be getting an IPF. The point is SMU has talked about this for over 10 years. The point is our competition and schools that are serious about competiting and winning at the Division 1-A level have IPFs or get an IPF when the coaches want one. The point is we were 1-10 last year and are at best a 2 win team this year. The point is there is one common demoninator with our sub-par and well below average football program over the last 20 plus years.....President Turner. Looks like Houston is making a serious commitment to their athletic program (facilities and coaches) in hopes of getting into the Big 12. Meanwhile, SMU still talks about an IPF. Johnny Rock knows what he is talking about.

The point is the schools you are calling "our competition" are getting 40-50-60 Million more than us every year from TV/Bowl/Ticket revenue so quit pointing the finger at Turner when in fact the money has to come from our alumni. As for schools that are G5 our athletic facilities are excellent especially when you consider most new G5 facilities have been funded by student fees at large state public school universities over decades. Private school funding of all academic and athletic facilities is based on alumni donations

I would wager a small amount that there are a few schools ranked ahead of us that do not have an IPF at this time. Let's send Johnny Rock out to figure out how they do that without one.

Texas Tech doesn't really have one-they have the huge white bubble-. They just announced plans the other day to build a real one. Baylor and TCU turned their programs around before their IPF were opened
