I think we sort have have an identity: we are WR-U thanks to all the June recruits in and headed to the NFL. We need to be explicit about this, sell this to anyone with ears, recruit by this, then pray for a defensive genius to cure our ailments on the other side of the ball. Focus on excitement excitement excitement...go for it on 4th, run trick plays, bomb it out excitement, REALLY play up-Tempo, etc. And market the hell out of your successes.

Maybe SMU should at least place Russ Potts on retainer in 2018 for some marketing ideas; circa 1978-style.

Hey, Brad Thomas is still in Dallas. Bring 'em BACK!!!

I know this has been brought up before. Maybe look at tarps to cover the seats not being used on the end zone. It just looks so bad on TV, can't imagine tarps looking worse. On the tarp, imprint your Dallas Mustang skyline logo and something like SMU, Dallas Texas. That at least gives some impression of Dallas as the home city, free ad for the city. As far as tarps, the PAC 12 championship game used tarps on the highest decks. NASCAR uses them all the time.

Not a bad idea for a lot of our games that we know won't draw even 20k. Might only need those end zone seats for TCU and possibly Houston next year

How about a tarp with the image of people sitting in the stands? If Baylor can put up faux brick we can put up faux fans!

The only way to be considered a successful team on the national level is to win conference championships and beat nationally ranked P5 ooc. We do neither. Other than TCU we aren't even trying to schedule top teams because our career ladder coaches want to pad their records.

Uh, Michigan? Thank god we padded the schedule this year so Chad could get a P5 job and we could go bowling.

I give you Michigan but I remember the late great Ron Meyer scheduling Ohio State, Penn State, and Florida all on the road in the same season so we could make a statement against top schools and get the attention of the regional press outside of Dallas. Yes, I know. The problem is getting a big school to come to Ford especially when Jerry world puts together packages allowing them to get exposure in Dallas by playing each other in Arlington.

If it was anyone but Chad Morris it would make so much sense with Arkansas trying to emphasize Texas
