we've won 2 against quality competition w/o Jarrey-we've got some quality wins. Finish in 3rd and let the chips fall where they may. Gonna be a challenge but not ready to wave the white-flag. -MacMurrey continuing to improve in the offense could be a big piece of the puzzle as he can at least replace most of Jarrey's scoring load. Many of our opponents have suffered crushing injuries too-UCF(3), UCONN, Wichita St. AAC is turning into a battle of survival

We currently have 6 guys averaging double figures and now with Jarrey out, let's hope this team can finish the season that way which would mean we got significant contributions from our remaining scorers...and I expect Agau's numbers to improve based on his last couple of outings. These guys went a long ways with basically 6 players last year, so why not

If you thought we were a tourney team after we beat Arizona and USC, you should have reason to hope even after this. Yes we lost Ray and Jarrey. But we have gained this since the USC:

Shake Kent has stepped into his phone booth twice to don the cape and will the team to victory
McMurray has joined the team and provided another offensive spark
Akoy has gotten in shape and shown flashes of what we hoped he would be when he transferred
Jimmy Whitt has flashed a ridiculously efficient mid range game
Ben E has proven that the 3PT% is for real.

And despite scholarship reductions, transfers, and injuries, we still have us some athletes.

Margin for error is very small now, but I think we can still pull it off. Need to win 1 of 4 against UH, Cincy and WSU and run the table otherwise.

Time to unleash McMurray.

2. If we beat UCF and Tulsa on the road. We need 12-6 in conference to likely make the tourney.

I am totally disappointed after tonight's dismal performance. I will still pull for the
Mustangs and be there in Moody for every game; however, I don't see us playing in any
tournament this year. The only way we could get in now is to beat Houston twice,
Wichita State and Cincinnati, both at home or - win the conference tournament.

If they play like they did tonight that will not happen. Without Jarrey and Ray they are
hurting. McMurray has disappeared. Our coach appears to have made very few adjustments,
at least in our game tonight. Our zone stinks. We didn't go man to man until 3 minutes
left, and we continually and deliberately run the shot clock down on every possession until
we have to take a bad shot and we pass up potentially good shots along the way. We rarely
get a fast break and we are not getting steals that lead to layups.

I hope we go to a tournament but I don't see it at this point.
