Seems well regarded. 4-3 scheme with a standup defensive end on one side so it will look like an aggressive 3-4 at times.

4.62 yards per play and 338.5 ypg. I tried to look up ours for comparison but the list only went up to the top 50

Also #1 in TFL and #2 in sacks

Well it's not hard to tell from last season we gave up way more than 338 ypg. More like 500.

You needed to look at it 3 more times.

NIU thinks it is a done deal. Their forum is upset, good sign for us.

Standup DE was a 6' 225lb converted RB who led the nation in sacks and TFL.

Sounds like a great role for Badejo. Scott might have to lose weight to play that outside spot. Otherwise it will be Badejo and Neals and Scott will play the strong side. Gary definitely is an inside player in this scheme.

We got both our OC and DC from like positions at peer schools. A sign that despite all the doomsday stuff, we are looked at as a destination job within the G5 for progression to the next level. And that we probably pay well enough.

Looking at their roster, smaller safeties and LBs. DT are 280-290 for the most part and DEs are smallish at 220-240. 4-3 look to stop the run, but smaller players that can run rather than big heavies.

Will be interesting to see where McQueen ends up - closer to the LOS as an outside LB or at safety.

But Coach D said after the bowl game that he wants to see the team get bigger on both sides of the the line of scrimmage. I don't suspect we'll see any downsizing, at the least.

Let's just hope we are hiring coaches who can adapt to their personnel rather than guys who are married to a particular scheme and will need 3-4 years to bring in "their guys" in order to be competitive. All I want is a staff that can "coach up" the guys we have while recruiting over guys who might never compete for playing time at this level.

Sounds to me (especially due to the OC hire) that Sonny is doing exactly that, adapting to personell rather than being married to his past. GP evolved ( changed up his offense), so IΓÇÖm sure that rubbed off on Sonny. Pure Air raid isnΓÇÖt going to win us a lot of championships and I think Sonny knows that.
