Re: SMU Missing on Recruits
Love the bigs and wings but surely they have a ready to play guard coming in if they allowed/encouraged Eli to walk...
Re: SMU Missing on Recruits
Are we still on the assumption that Young is not on scholarship next year and therefore we still have 3 scholarships to give (plus the 8 scholarship players already mentioned) this cycle (if Akoy doesn't return)?
Re: SMU Missing on Recruits
Haven't been following these boards too much lately, so can someone explain why we're giving derogatory nicknames to our own players?
Re: SMU Missing on Recruits
well, besides doing what I want, when I want, McMurray blazes at rate Cheech is proud of. Frenchie is self evident and only a negative if you like winning wars and hate stinky cheese. Pretty sure you like cheese though

Re: SMU Missing on Recruits
Let's see.... Courtney Ramsey, PG; number three ranked recruit in St. Louis who decommitted from Louisville, committed to Texas two days ago. SMU was notified he was a free agent months ago. Did we do anything ? It didn't say anywhere in the StL papers that we were interested in him. What's up with that ? From a player who went to the same high school as Jim Krebs, and were state champions two years in a row. Illinois State is only a hour and three quarter drive from St.Louis. Surely Jank knows where Webster is located.
Smustatesman aka NUKE......I procreate and I vote.
Re: SMU Missing on Recruits
His name is Ramey, not Ramsey. And yes we did recruit him and made his short list, but he went UT. I'm guessing the StL papers are probably not the best source for recruiting news.

He has enough reserves to put 28 kids through SMU
You have it backwards. Anybody who can afford to send two kids to SMU can afford those taxes. By the way....they are only $ 21, 560.
May want to double check that. That equals 0.2156% tax rate. Most property taxes are between 1 and 2%. HP is low around 1%. $21560 would be close to taxes on a $1 million house. Think we are missing a 0

I know taxes on a home with a taxable value of about $1.5 million in University Park have a total tax bill of around $30K.

Better not let the East Hampton assessors see this thread or it will be time for a Hamptons reseat.
and.... themΓÇÖs the tax facts Jack. The Hamptons have ridiculously low property taxes. IΓÇÖve been a real estate broker here for 30 years. My office is just around the corner from LBΓÇÖs house.

Re: SMU Missing on Recruits
I had long determined to move back to Texas in retirement due to no state income tax. But when reviewing Texas property taxes found that the property tax increase would far exceed the state income tax paid in Arkansas.

I'm assuming a $1.5M home is ~3,200 sq ft in HP.
Besides the high tax rate, how much is the average electric bill for the month?
You add those 2 elements up, and the price differences between Dallas and Orange County are not as great.
