The Showgirls are second only to the Song Girls of USC. Both make ours look like the Mini-Mustangs. (not that there is anything wrong with that

)

The Showgirls are very beautiful, and there are some very good dancers on the team, including some I have known since they were little, but as a team, what they are doing is not, by any stretch of the imagination, college level dance. It's not even JV high school level dance. Stomp to a formation, wave your poms for eight 8-counts in a wide stance, stomp to another formation, do a hair flip, wave your poms in a ripple, do another hair flip, drop to your knees, wave your poms. All done with good power and uniformity, and highly entertaining, but very elementary in terms of dance. I challenge you to show me a time where the full squad executes any basic technical dance skill such as an a la seconde turn sequence, triple pirouette, turning disc, toe touch, calypso, firebird, side leap, switch leap, or anything every other dance team does. You can't because they don't.
So my point is what they do is so simple that they can do it even if the field is wet. Enjoy them for what they are--showgirls.

With all due respect, I don't think many people in the stands at a college football game or NFL game are watching the technicality of the dance. I'm sure that standpoint changes when they are in actual competition though

"Enjoy them for what they are--showgirls.." Uh, exactly what else are we supposed to be enjoying them for? No "la second turn sequence"? No "turning disc"? No "triple pirouette"? Oh, the humanity!

My forecast is showing about a 30% chance of rain between 4pm and 9pm, totalling about two one hundredths of an inch if it does happen. Any significant rain is supposed to start about 1am.

higher, thinner clouds and some sunshine right now-but that will probably just warm things up for early evening storms. Right now looking much better than yesterday though

At my grandmother used to say, it's just supposed to "spit" if anything from tailgating time through the end of the game. That means maybe a sprinkle here or there. Nothing to prevent anyone from getting out
