The American Athletic Conference doesnΓÇÖt have a true pecking order. The bowl matchups are based on best possible games and geography.

ΓÇô Jared Birmingham Bowl vs. SEC
ΓÇô Bad Boy Mowers Gasparillia Bowl vs. Conference USA
ΓÇô Hawaii Bowl vs. BYU or Mountain West
ΓÇô Military Bowl presented by Northrup Grumman vs. ACC
ΓÇô Cheribundi Tart Cherry Bowl vs. Conference USA
ΓÇô AutoNation Cure Bowl vs. Sun Belt
ΓÇô Frisco Bowl vs. At-Large

The American Athletic has secondary partnerships with the AutoZone Liberty and Walk-OnΓÇÖs Independence, to fill if the main affiliations canΓÇÖt fill their slots.

Thanks for this. So why are we able to be possibly considered for the Texas bowl? Is it that if certain bowls don't have a secondary partnership that they can go to at-large?

Exactly, the SEC can't fill all their bowl arrangements. Which ones they'll have to pass on is TBD.

I'm sure your personal experience was fine TW . I'm speaking of the location and the facility itself.

It doesn't take as many times as I've been there to understand that this is the little stepbrother Facility that hasn't had any upgrade since John F. Kennedy.

Of all of the facilities I have attended in the last 20 years this is the least overwhelming.
It needs to be imploded.

I get it . I'm selfish I like it warm in the Winter anywhere in Florida.

In addition it would ruin people's spirits to get waxed by a P5 team we're not ready for this year.

A new 50,000 seat stadium is under construction in downtown B-ham. The old gray ladyΓÇÖs days are numbered.

If the SEC gets 3 or 4 in the playoff & NY6 theyΓÇÖll only have 4 teams to fill six spots of which the Liberty and Texas Bowl are two.

I could see SMU in either against someone like OSU, KSU, or ISU. UT will be off the board by then.

It will ruin peopleΓÇÖs spirits if 10-2 SMU goes to Frisco.
