That, or something close to it, is a reasonable hope. Now the question becomes have you, dear poster, already decided that Jank canΓÇÖt make that happen? Are youΓÇÖd starting with that conclusion, and therefore *want* this team to fail so that you can be proven right? Do you just want to post nonstop hate based on a prejudice?

My humble suggestion is to support your coach and team and let it play out. We should be damned happy if he pulls it off.

No need to prejudge. Just judge his track record the last few seasons. And his track record at Illinois State.

It's Illinois State. What's your point? Look at Illinois State before he was there and after he left. They had 1 NIT appearance in the nine seasons before him. They have made 2 NIT appearances in the seven seasons since. With him they made the NIT 4 out of 5 seasons. While the NIT is not a great accomplishment for a top 25 program, it is at a program like ISU.

The goal is the NCAA tournament. Period.
He's only done that once in his entire career -- the season he was handed one of the best SMU teams on a sliver platter. It's also the only season he's won a conference title.

Jank did well at ISU but with the Valley being a one bid league, his teams had the pressure of having to win their conference tourney or settling for NIT. I have no problem with what he accomplished there and Nic Moore respected him enough to transfer to SMU so enough said. I don't know whether he will be here long term or even after this year, but I'm certainly pulling for this team to be the surprise team in the AAC this year and for them to actually win a game in the NCAA Tourney, something LB's team full of professional players could not accomplish.

It's one game and it's not over yet. Kentucky lost to Evansville and Duke lost to SFA. Every team lays an egg now and then. I won't judge until I see what our guys do in 2nd half of this game and how they respond after exams when the schedule gets much tougher. They clearly were not prepared for a Georgetown team that came out red hot and as speed and quickness like these guys have not seen yet.
