Every successful collegiate basketball program bends the rules continually, You don't self report violations. The NCAA is the crooked one, get in the game or be lame.

How much did LB cost? How much would Pitino cost?
An A.D. (and University President) with Stones? Not sure about that, but I'd like to think SMU has enough wealthy friends of the program that salary would not be an issue. My concern is that Pitino would reach out to L.B. for his thoughts and not sure Coach Brown would endorse SMU as a school that really is committed to compete at the highest level
I think he would take it into account but ultimately accept the job. Not a difficult decision when you are out of options like Larry was and Rick is now.

IΓÇÖm sorry. I wish we would hire PutinΓÇÖs but if you think Turner would allow that you have been dreaming. It would never be allowed. ItΓÇÖs SMU after all.

He okΓÇÖd Brown. Why not Pitino? Do we actually think the NCAA will think we are good guys if we do not hire someone like him? We could hire the Pope and the NCAA would shut us down for bringing a catholic into a Methodist institution.

I bet Vlad Putin could recruit.

What does a good billboard off Central Expressway cost? I'm in for $2,000.00 Who wants to pitch in. 1-800-Get-Rick with Pitino superimposed over Michael Corleone and Godfather II poster. After all, he really would be better than the original from the standpoint that he's Italiano like Pacino.
All joking aside, the NCAA has no balls right now. You want proof? See Sean Miller at Arizona/Self at Kansas. Fricking federal indictments and convictions and the NCAA is running scared of opening this pandora's box. How's does Keith Frazier's cheating look compared to this hornet's nest?

I agree but I am also afraid that that is wishful thinking.

If I was hiring, that is certainly a question I would ask to our next President & AD.
